I've been watching this guy for a while and he's taken off.

What do you folks think? I've seen some things that I don't totally agree with, but he's pretty sharp. Apparently he has a JD...maybe Mitchell and Colion could be the most amazing dynamic duo of gun rights on the planet?

What could be a more diverse pro-gun lobby group than a short Jewish guy from the liberal northeast state of CT alongside a handsome black man from the conservative southern state of TX

I've been watching and listening to him also. I wish I was at least half as articulate as he is. This is the kind of guy we need carrying our message.

This is one of the smartest moves the NRA has made in a long time.

I'm glad they seem to have allowed him to retain control over the type of message he was putting out with his previous videos.

I think they're announcing a few other new contributors as well pretty soon.

Haters will hate though, and it's crazy the reaction some in the black community had to him collaborating with the NRA. I just want to ask them, ever heard of the deacons for defense and justice??

Now if we could just get these to run on national TV, when a lot of people are watching, perhaps during some sporting event.

Agreed. His review on the P30 was most excellent.

The production value of his videos really make his stuff shine for me. While I've grown accustomed to being greeted with a, "hey, what's up youtube" at the beginning of most videos and people using their phone as their primary video camera, I appreciate the quality he is putting out. I'm a little on the fence on his product reviews, but I still enjoy watching them. For example, the P30 review was more of a love letter than a review. On one hand, I didn't see him field strip it and do other things I would expect from a review like this, but if he did that it would be just like all of the other P30 reviews so I can appreciate its unique-ness. I'd say he is well spoken (and he is), but then I'd sound like this Chris Rock bit (semi-NSFW): http://youtu.be/DePjG71zttQ?t=1m40s. Interestingly enough, Rock is talking about Colin.....close to Colion...

Someone needs to tell him to try using his trigger finger to drop the mag, rather than his thumb.

He has a great perspective on things that makes him approachable to the novice shooter but is knowledgeable enough to keep people like us happy. I don't regularly watch his videos but I am very glad the nra is putting a new young face on their message.

He gets right to it. I've always liked the videos I've seen from him concerning the 2A.

On second thought, maybe he is going for the "Top Gear" of gun reviews. In that case, they are great!

For me, a big selling point is not only his delivery but the video production. We have a message to sell to a lot of people, where the packaging is quite important. So far, he seems like the right guy.

I'm not only a huge fan of that but how he got started, just one of us with ambition. He's also been invited and as best as I can tell participate in a Haley class.

First I've heard of this. Can you expand or point me to the discussion?

On the P30 series of pistols, the magazine release is actuated easier with the index finger instead of one's thumb.

I'm subscribed to his channel, and I've been watching him for a while. Great common sense, keep it simple, get to the point videos. Being well spoken certainly helps. This is silly, and this is why. No throwing around a bunch of double talk or complicating things with language either. Anti gunners hate that shit. They love to over complicate things so they can try and pull a fast one. Oh, well sorry, when we said this, we meant this, not that. Uh huh.

derailing this thread totally with the topic, but over on HKPRO there's been a very nice thread about that exact topic. ;)

Apologies for the Face-Place link...

Colion got pulled over for speeding. (https://www.facebook.com/COLIONNOIR/posts/538560889527006)

Officer: Where are you going in such a rush?

Me: Back home to do some work (Handing him my ID and CHL)

Officer: Where is the gun

Me: One in the bag in front of you, one on my right hip, and an AR15 in the back.

Officer: (Smirks a little bit)

Officer: Slow Down, Have a nice day.

Me: I LOVE TEXAS! (As I get back on the highway)

Favorite comment so far...

Officer: You're two guns short of the minimum and you need a 30-06 but I'll let you off with a warning.

Texas is GREAT.! But I miss NC every day (not the humidity). Never had anything other than good experiences with the Chatham County LEO's (Sheriff). Even the city boys and Troopers in NC were great. I recall an incident or two where my CCW got me some slack on a velocity infraction.

For sure. I haven't had any LEO encounters for vehicle related stuff, but a lot of the places I like to go (local range, two LGS, etc) I run into a bunch since '05 and just about every encounter has been a really good one. Most of them seem like you could go grab a brew or something with them. They are very laid back and professional from my experiences.*

I kinda figured TX was similar. Then again, I have yet to set foot in the Lone Star State, so what could I possibly "know" about it there. :)

*except for the townies in Cary, NC, who enforce some of the most "NY style" laws down here. I avoid that area like the plague.

Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. There is nothing of value there.

I heard Brandon Webb on one of his SOFREP podcasts retelling a story Chris Kyle had told him about his self defense shooting incident in TX. Long story short, after the LEOs were satisfied at the scene one walked Chris to the back of his patrol car and topped off his magazine for him.
Truth or good story telling? Who knows. It was funny regardless.

I remember somebody saying "His voice is audio chocolate."

He's a great move on the NRA's part.
