View Full Version : Glock - Proof Mark and Import Mark Question

I've been poking around online (since I have nothing better to do at the moment) and have a couple questions regarding import markings.

I've found some Glocks that have Austrian proof marks. What exactly does this mean? Are they put through more rigorous testing than say, my Austrian-made, but not proof-marked Gen 3 19s?

Also have found that some Glocks are marked:

"Made In Austria
Glock Ges.m.b.H."

rather than the standard

"Made in Austria
Glock INC, Smyrna GA"

Thanks in advance (and I apologize if this is a dumb question...)

The Gen 3 Glock G19's with the proof marks were made in Austria and not destined for the USA but were shipped here due to a severe shortage. Same pistol with different markings.
The Glocks assembled or made in Ga. have the Ga. markings.
