I'm going to run a match with 5 or 6 stages based on movie scenes.
This is our "outlaw concealed carry match", so they don't have to be IDPA/IPSC legal.
Round count 6-18 per stage and preferably half-ass revolver friendly.
Since the ammo shortage is in full swing, match round count will be around 50-75.
How about some ideas?

Bank scene from Heat. You'll need to provide the guns and ammo.

Motorcycle chase scene from Mission Impossible 2. You'll need to provide the motorcycles.

Crazy 88's scene from Kill Bill. You'll need to provide the katana and funny masks.

Matrix lobby scene. You'll need to provide the virtual reality.

High rise, bungee jumping with a fire hose...? :D With a Glock taped to your back?

I remember a match that had the 'Collateral' stage - always a crowd pleaser.

I've always thought that the final shootout from LA Confidential would make a decent stage. Defend the 'Victory Motel'. Engage multiple targets through windows/doors. Perhaps have a low portal to engage from the prone (to mirror Bud White's (Russel Crowe) excursion under the room).

The final shootout from Way of The Gun is pretty long, but Longbaugh (Benicio del Toro) could inspire a stage with a number of interesting elements (weak hand shooting/shoot on the move/shooting from unconventional positions).

Man on Fire. Protect the principal. Engage targets over/under/around the car. Strong hand only on final targets. Glock 34 approved.

Sounds like a fun match - good luck!

"The Ugly"

Shooter is Seated at a table eating a turkey leg in their SH. Shooter then draws and engages 3 targets entering the restaurant, then must crash dramatically through a candy glass window still clutching the turkey leg.

How about replicating the last scene in The Untouchables where you have to hold a weighted baby stroller on an incline and make a few shots a SHO culminating with a 4-5 yard SHO in the mouth shot.

Going that route, may as well do the bathing scene too........sitting naked in a tub of water, engage from inside the tub, and mandatory reciting of the classic line that follows.........

We did a Good, Bad, Ugly stage where you had P1 and two threat targets to make the triangle for the shoot out between Angel Eyes, Tuco and Blondie, we did it at about 25 yards distance as I recall, you can do one shot ea. pairs, or Tac sequence etc. if you don't want to be exactly like the movie scene.

"The Puzzled Eagle"
Weapon: .32acp supressed Walther PPK (provided)

Shooter stars behind a dropping no- shoot sillouette. Once the card drops, shooter must neutralise the target to his immediate front with a headshot, then engage two targets at the table to his left without hitting the 4 no-shoots around the table. Finally, shooter engages a target moving away towards another no-shoot.

I can't find a good clip of the opening scene on youtube anymore, but I think the "Sir Joshua Kenyon Smith" drill is a good one. :) (5 shot Bulldog vs multiple mounted adversaries, figure the odds.)

Stage Descriptions
Standing at P1 shooter will fire two shots to the body at T1, followed by two shots to the body and one shot to the head on T2.

Shooter must advanced to P2, pick up the briefcase, and fire one shot to the head of T1 now lying on the ground.

I think that course of fire would begin with you breaking a disposable razor on your cheek.

I think you might have to have 3 targets on this one. T1 and T2 as mentioned above, but then when you pick up the briefcase, you would advance and fire one or two SHO head shots on T3, which is at a 45 degree angle (laying backwards) behind T1, to simulate a person on the ground. This adds some movement and prevents the shooter from walking backwards after picking up the briefcase to engage the final target.

T3 would be in one of these:

Opening shootout from Street Kings when Keanu Reeves boots the front door to the Korean's house. You'd need to include the guy on the toilet and the creepy one wearing the mask.

There has to be an Archer scene out there. Other movies I am scouring trying to find something good from are Training Day, Gangs of New York, and Miami Vice (show and movie). I have no doubts you could host a Michael Mann match if need be.

This boat shootout from the last Rambo flick seems eminently IDPA. Multiple BGs, reasonable range, low round count. The movie sets PAR. ;)

Shoot, b****! Democracy's at stake!

For the inaugural KSTG match, I'd originally designed all the stages based on FBI events as we held the match at an FBI range. One of the stages involved running up to a door, hosing targets as you went. Then you dropped the gun, opened the door, and tossed a lit match into a burn barrel full of paper...

Unfortunately, Miami Vice (movie) is almost all longarms. The final shootout would be great inspiration for a 2/3 gun match stage though.

The series has more possibilities. There is the classic Jim Zubiena Mozambique from Calderone's Return (recreated by OrigamiAK here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVX8KAWdnDg&list=UUeVRNQq7ZrVcEXD1gs1_WEA&index=20)) though that'd be a fairly fast stage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA-xIssgT-o

I tried to find the final shootout from Glades on YouTube, which ends with Crockett's classic "Maybe you won't even twitch..." line, but the best I could do was this montage from YouTube. Still, I could see something along the lines of 'Drop through skylight, engage two targets through a window, engage a third target through cover, conduct a tactical reload (bonus points for putting the partial mag in your mouth), headshot to fourth target obscured by a no-shoot.' The whole episode is actually available here (http://www.nbc.com/classic-tv/miami-vice/video/glades/n30546/) on the NBC website (final shootout begins around 41 minutes).

I always liked the shootouts from Prodigal Son, but it wouldn't be the same if you didn't shoot down a helicopter with a Bren Ten at the end.
