We all know the classic complaints against the AR-15:
"It's only designed for killing!"
"It's only good for spray and pray!"
"It was designed to be fired from the hip!"
"It has no legitimate purpose outside of a battlefield!"
Etc
But we also know that the AR-15, in addition to being one of the most popular civilian rifles, is one of the most popular Law Enforcement rifles.
Partially for the sake of a polite argument I'm having with an acquaintance, and partially just to add to my vault of handy links, I'm looking for links that fit the following criteria:
News story from a major news outlet (i.e. not MyBlogIsCool.tumblr.wikipedia.whatever.com) - don't want my acquaintance to focus on the source, rather than the content
Shows NON-SWAT* personnel holding AR-15s - want to preemptively head off any claims of "Well, those are just for special/tactical/SWAT teams"
Preferably is a somewhat "average" story - want to preemptively head off claims of "Well, that's only in the really extreme cases"
I list the last one as preferable because at the end of the day, a patrol officer carrying an AR-15 is a patrol officer carrying an AR-15. I'm hoping, however, that by highlighting everyday cases, I can better show that AR-15s are indeed everyday weapons for some departments.
*The non-SWAT thing is a little trickier, perhaps. I'm just trying to avoid photos in which the LEOs are decked out in gear that has a military appearance and can therefore be dismissed as outliers.
Some examples of what I'm looking for:
While certainly not an "everyday case," the photos in this article show Sherrifs and Officers in patrol uniforms carrying AR-15s. Yes, SWAT officers are also shown, but they clearly aren't the only ones carrying carbines:

Again, far from an everyday case, but the Dorner coverage produced countless such photos:

An example of something that I DON'T find particularly useful would be this one, as the average person is more likely to believe this is a photo of troops rather than domestic LE:
