YES!!! A 1949 gun! I've been having bear and moose hunting fantasies lately...
Liquidated a Brown for it.
Though, not a Deluxe.... :(
Brass, dies, bullets all ordered. Can't find ammo anywhere. IGlock - I couldn't find them there.

I'm always on the lookout for a Model 54 I can afford ammo for. ;)

Buffalo Arms is my go-to source for loaded ammo in obscure or obsolete calibers. They even had 7.62x45 for my Vz. 52.
Here's the order page for .348 Win (http://www.buffaloarms.com/348_Winchester_Ammunition_it-421171.aspx?CAT=4445).

Oh nice choice you have made there, have you got out and shot it yet ?
I have a Win Mod71 as well it is one of my favourite rifles.
Winchester do still make ammo for it but they only do a limited run every year or second year, we don't get any of it over here.
It's pretty much a reload only option if you want to shoot it a bit, I like to shoot mine.
I am using Hornady 200gr interlock projectiles and I have some Woodleigh Bullets comeing that are 250gr SN.
The round is like the hammer of thor on pigs they are DRT.
And the rifle man it just fits.
I really like the round.
Between ammo availability and desire to hunt bear, time to turn that puppy into a .450 Alaskan!
