I can't seem to find this story in the Washington Post:

15 Year Old Boy Uses AR to Defend himself and Sister against Home Invaders (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/01/09/15-Year-Old-Boy-Uses-AR-15-To-Defend-House-Against-Burglars)

I can't seem to find this story in the Washington Post:

Because the Washington, DC newspaper is unlikely to report on a story that happened two and a half years ago in Houston, TX, that's why.

Good catch. The linked article came out 1/10/13 and referenced the incident in GA last week where a mom used a .38 to defend herself and her twins against an intruder,
so I assumed it was news. Perhaps the the author was a bit misleading. My bad for posting it without vetting it further.
Nevertheless, I remain frustrated with the one-sided coverage of the gun control debate I find in the Washington Post, my local news paper.

You won't find anything remotely pro gun or self defense coming out of the WaPo, aka Pravda on the Potomac.

As a Bugler I would like to say most of us avoid violence at all costs. We are not responsible for the actions of the few.

But you can't stop those few either. We need to ban assault bugles!

This is perhaps the best spelling error of my internet career. :o
I saw the misspelling right away but couldn't figure out how to edit the title.

Banning hardware is never the right answer. Instead we need to address the underlying culture of violence. Today's young bugler is bombarded by "Gangsta" Bugle Call videos and other media that glorifies crime, violence, and misogyny. Many spend hours a day playing first-person Bugle games like "Bugle Call of Duty" that systematically desensitizes them to violence. While I oppose government censorship on 1st Amendment grounds, I think it is high time for bugler community leaders to acknowledge that this culture of violence is part of the problem, and to counteract it by providing positive role models. Only in this way can we break the cycle of bugler violence.

Pravda ran a very pro gun in america opinion piece, actually. http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/28-12-2012/123335-americans_guns-0/

Also can we please finally get some common sense laws on the books regulating the use and acquisition of bugles?

I had a ND the other day with my bugle (phrasing?). Thank god I followed the other bugle safety rules and had the thing pointing in a safe direction.

Pravda is a nationalist Russian mouthpiece. They are RT will run this kind of stuff not out of any particular feelings on gun rights but to sew dissention in the US. I happen to agree with most of what they are saying, but the Russians do not have a free press and they want Americans pissed at each other and unable to form political consensus on anything, lest the US be able to take action that is not in keeping with Russian interests. Just remember their motivations.

Don't get me wrong, the same author has written many pro-Putin pieces and is a little crazy. I just thought it a funny contrast.

The Russians are capable of calling us whatever the Tsar wants them to call us. ;)
