Question for the HK folks here: What .22 trainer do you practice with in order best mimic the p2000? Bonus points if it has an LEM-like trigger.

Thanks,

That newish ruger 22. It had paddle mag release also

SR22 I think its called. Joshs uses one IIRC.

I only use a .22 to work on accuracy fundamentals, so using a gun that exactly mimics the trigger isn't a huge issue. I've been using the SR22, but I shoot the vast majority of shots double action. A double action .22 revolver would also be a good solution.

The best trainer that I've found on a budget is a J-frame .22. Nothing teaches trigger management like a J-frame.

I reload lead .38 specials for not much more than what .22LR costs and get trigger practice and recoil management/sight tracking practice out of my J-Frame.
The Apex trigger kit does a pretty good job of approximating a LEM.

I picked up an LCR .22 as a "trainer" for my P2000--really to work on that rolling break. Have done a ton of dry-fire but not shot it yet. The trigger is pretty heavy.

I should get a chance to really put some rounds through it Friday (along with my P2000) and can give you my initial thoughts.
