How far do you have to drive to your preferred range? Mine is about 9 miles from my house. It is an outdoor range run by the local gun club.

28mi through DC traffic. Jealous?

I have an indoor range approx 3 miles from my house but I NEVER go there. Something about not wanting to get shot by one of the idiots prevents it.

My local outdoor private club is 12 miles driveway to gate. It's an easy drive too, none of that DC traffic to contend with. :p It's pretty fantastic as members have their own keys to the gate and we can let ourselves in as we please, dawn to dusk and Sundays after NOON.

18 miles through DC traffic, which is 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time and/or day of the week.

Probably only in regards to the quality of the range and the amount of ammo you have. :D

Actually, it's taken me more than 2hr on a few occasions. One little fender bender or, heaven forbid, a dusting of snowflakes and the entire Beltway comes to a grinding halt.

Now, that might be worthy of some jealousy.

If I could go cross-country, about 0.75 miles.

Following the roads, about 3 miles. Backing the car out to being parked on a bay at the range = about 6 minutes.

It's about 40 minutes to the range I prefer. One is closer, but they restrict everything you can do, ask it is a rare day I go there. The good thing is it is now free for me.

33 miles and 45 minutes or 20 miles and 25-60 minutes depending on traffic.

there are 4 different indoor ranges between 10-20mile radius of me. i wish there was a good outdoor range that allowed rapid fire or more than 6 shots loaded at a time...

To the nearest range is 8 miles, but it's indoor.

It's about an hour and a half to my preferred range so I have to make a day of it when I go, through Atlanta traffic if it's a week day going around the E285 loop so pray for no fender benders or over turned trucks on the ramps. It's a hike but I can then practice as I want to from 9AM until dark. It's worth the drive. Of course work is a 1 to 1.5 hour a day drive as well so I'm used to it. The joys of Atlanta traffic and the 400 corridor. :p

21 miles but it's one of the few in NJ allows you to train from a holster.

5.5 miles (10 minutes) to one club, 12 miles (20 minutes) to the other. The second club has 10 action bays where I can set up whatever I want, and a 200/300yd rifle range.

My preferred range is an outdoor range that is 20 miles away and never takes more than 30 mins to get there.

I can shoot out my backyard but the area is flat and I don't have a good backstop so I don't usually do it.

Note to self: Don't complain about how far you have to drive to work or to the range..after reading these posts.

It's by the Lake City Ammunition Plant, I can be there in 5 minutes or less. There are two ranges to pick from, one is indoors and the Lake City Range (http://mdc.mo.gov/regions/kansas-city/lake-city-shooting-range) is outdoors. I prefer the Lake City Range by far, it's $3.00 per hour.

15 minutes to my grandpa's house..where i have a few racks of steel a long with some PPC and IDPA targtes hung up..its a pretty nice range, if i drive 15 miles i can go to either my clubs indoor or outdoor range, both with turning targets with timers (outdoor ones dont get much use though)

It's 12 miles door to gate.
There's a gravel pit I used to shoot at that is closer but it's unavailabe these days.

I shoot at two other ranges, one is 20 miles off and the other about 40.

Please don't waste your time watching that movie. It SUCKS. The "desk pop" scene is funny but you can prob find it on YouTube or something.
