When I was in college and worked in a gun store for extra money, we used to sell the 58S. We sold quite a few of them and they seem to work pretty good.

Sure wish it was in 32 ACP.

As someone with a lot of affection for .380 (who knows why, I just like it) I find myself wondering, if someone wanted a Cheetah clone, whether the Taurus or the various Turkish knockoffs would be better. I don't think I'd get either, I like Beretta enough to get the actual Cheetah, but sometimes I look at those Girsan/Tisas/Rock Island 92 copies and am almost drawn to get one out of pure curiosity.
I think this Taurus is much more 92 compact in size actually

The sights, classic shape, and lack of rail on the latest Tisas appeal to me, along with the reputation of their 1911s here.

There’s also a ton of used/ trade in Cheetahs online lately.

I wish my Fatih had those grip panels on it. It’s a great shooting and well built pistol for the money!

Interesting. Years ago, I went through a Beretta Cheetah obsession phase and realized Taurus made a version. I guess they're reintroducing them. Or maybe they never stopped making them?
But, now that I actually own an 85FS Cheetah... it shoots well. Fixed barrel accuracy. And it's perfect for small hands. Like most blowbacks, its recoil impulse is punchy and percussive--but kinda fun. Until about 70 rounds in.
