I talked to Chuck on the phone briefly. I'm attaching information on how to proceed with donations. The younger officer leaves behind a 4 year old and a Fiancé. I know it's Xmas time but lets try to do right by them if we can. I'm asking anyone I knew that was planning on getting me something to make a donation instead. I don't need more stuff...



MEDIA RELEASE

The Topeka Police Department has been receiving a large amount of requests from individuals and organizations asking how they can support the fallen officers families. The Topeka Police Credit Union has set up two separate accounts in the names of David Gogian and Jeff Atherly. Anyone wishing to contribute to those funds may do so by sending a check made payable to the Topeka Police Credit Union or TPCU. The Credit Union will split donations between each fallen officer unless specified in the memo section if someone wishes to donate to a specific officer. Checks may be sent to the Topeka Police Credit Union, 320 S. Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66603 or they can be accepted Monday thru Friday between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Credit Union which is located inside the front lobby of the LEC.

Also tonight the Fraternal Order of Police will be holding a candle light vigil at 6:00 pm in front of the LEC for those wishing to attend.

Funeral arrangements are being coordinated with the fallen officers families and announcement will be made within the next couple days. Support for the families is our primary concern at this point and we ask everyone to respect their wishes.
