I know this might be a weird prospective, but I find it kind of strange when one man has another mans name across his back. With that said, I do own a John Stockton jersey from when I was in my 20s.

Nope, I’m more into the team (Dallas Stars in my case) than the individual players. Well, except for my grandson’s youth hockey teams…😁

When I was big into it, I had a couple Carolina Panthers jerseys, but one was a Chad Cota jersey and one was Kevin Greene jersey. Soooo . . . I haven't cared that much in the last ~25 years.

Nope. Never have. Never thought about doing so, either.

Yes... sort of. I have an official Packers home jersey, with my name on it. Guerrera has an away jersey with her name.
I wish we had the guts to do something like this:

Not since everyone in the various leagues became younger than me. I think there are few things more weird than wearing the jersey of someone younger than you.
I don't mind the idea that Guerrero has - cheering the team with YOUR jersey on.
I'm a Mavericks and Texas Longhorns guy. I have t-shirts and hats.

Just plain t-shirts? Or players numbers/name?

Just logo shirts for the most part. I do have one number/name of a long-retired player.

I stopped caring about sports 20+ years ago, but I still have my Dan Marino jersey in a box somewhere ;)

I have Jason Varitek, Al Martin (signed), and Griffey Jr jerseys from my childhood.
Now I just have beanies from my favorite teams, jerseys are too pricey and too limited in wear.

I have a couple for baseball and hockey, the only two sports I care about.
It's no different than guys buying all the Nine Line or ZeroFoxtrot shirts or whatever. At least when I buy a sports jersey I'm not LARP'ing as a pro ball player.
Nope. Never have. Never thought about doing so, either.
Me neither. I'm down for some weird shit, but that's too creepy for me.

I have a green alternate sweater with JR Roenick’s name and number on it. It’s autographed too. I never felt a stigma about wearing it. I do need to put it in a shadow box though.

He was a classmate of one of the fellas I mentored on the job. (As if he needed one. His dad was the SAC at one of the other agencies. He was a good kid though.)

Do y'all not have Trump shirts? DTOM? Team Glock? Ford/Chevy? Other brands?
It's just showing support of something you both enjoy and are a fan of.
Gun forums seem, IMO, to care little about sports. To the point of being somewhat disparaging. I believe it's because they, and PF specifically, usually attract the kind of people who realize that sportsball doesn't pay your bills. I realize that also, I just like it as entertainment and acknowledge that's all it is.
Conversely, there's a lot of people who like watches way too much.

I've got several Yankees jerseys with no numbers on the back (Yankees don't put players' names on their jerseys). The only jersey I have with a number on it is a Derek Jeter Hall of Fame jersey.
I wouldn't wear one with another dude's name on it, but that's just me.

My wife and I are big baseball fans. By that I mean, we have the MLB.TV package, have season tickets to one team's spring training, have been to MLB games this season in two different parks, have season tickets to a Low A team in the Florida State League (FSL), and attend MILB games at two other parks. Our summer social life revolves around baseball and our friends who are into baseball. IOW, we spend a lot of time and money on baseball. We have quite a few jerseys as well as more than a few game-used balls. I usually wear a jersey to a game. Two of mine have player names on them. One is an old jersey from when Greg Maddux played for Atlanta, and the other is a game-used jersey from spring training from a guy who never made it to the Show. The rest have numbers on the rear. The ones I wear have numbers on the rear, not names.

If you're a kid, I think that's fine. My nephews, in their early teens, wanted a certified PSG Zlatan Ibrahimovic shirt for Christmas so we got them one each; they weren't cheap and hard to get.
I don't.
I have thought of getting a jersey of my favorite team and putting my own last name on it, but I recall an ESPN "Mike & Mike in the Morning" episode, where Mike Golic (former Notre Dame and Philadelphia Eagles player) commented about such stuff and mentioned his personal objection to that stuff since the fan didn't actually play for said team. I know it's kind of dumb, but it did affect my thought process and I decided against it.
I do have some logo-gear from the college my kids went to, but not game jersey's. I have thought of getting them a game football jersey with their graduation year as the number, that they can wear to games or watch parties, but then I'd have to figure out if whoever wore that number is now in prison or has some kind of bad behavior that they'd not like to be associated with, so no jersey's for them, yet.
The only jersey we have is a Red Sox Dwight Evans (also like the Yankees, no names, just numbers) that I bought for my wife years ago since she was a Dwight Evans fan.
I have a Tamba Hali Chiefs jersey from the late 2000s. I loved him because that team was generally mediocre at best, but he played so hard with so much effort every time he was on the field. It's currently my proof that I'm not jist a recent Chiefs fan.

I’ve got several from my favorite MLB team, but they are all very old now. From childhood up until about 10 years ago I was a huge MLB fan, when they went political and off the rails the love affair died. I choose not to give them my money any longer, it was tough at first but like any break up it got easier with the passing of time.

Not that I can recall. If so, not for about 50 years. I think that my mother may have bought something like that, for me, when I was a kid. I think it was a t-shirt, not a jersey.

I have a t-shirt with:
Foxtrot Juliet Bravo on the front &
Let's Go Brandon on the Back.
Does that count?
Me neither. I'm down for some weird shit, but that's too creepy for me.
I re-tract this post and sentiment. I remembered this morning I wore a Bart Starr jersey as a boy playing backyard football. And my son recently gifted me a long sleeve T shirt with a retro Green Bay jersey of Number 15 BART STARR after seeing a game in Green Bay; which I do were as it’s fit is perfect and makes me look jacked. lol
So I’m creepy as anyone too. blues
I’ve a NeverTrump bracelet I wear that ironically I bought from the Rubio campaign in 2016 🤣🤣🤣

I had a Bernie Parent Flyers jersey when I was a kid. I was a very fine street hockey goalie. In 5th grade we challenged the 6th grade and won 5-2. In 6th grade we challenged the 7th grade and lost 1-0. GOA = 1.5. Had I grown up in Canada and been able to skate, I might have been a solid backup goalie for one of the lesser teams in one of the regional junior hockey leagues.
Jerome Brown, of blessed memory, was my favorite Eagle of all time. I was at the MNF body bag game against the Redskins circa 1990, in which he was beyond spectacular. If I were ever to have an Eagles jersey, it would be a retro “99” Jerome Brown jersey.

There is also collecting/displaying versus wearing. I'm a football fan and have several signed and unsigned jerseys most of which were gifts. I wore one to a game once because my nephew gave it to me and he went with me. As a general rule I agree it is a little weird if one thinks about wearing a much younger strangers name on your back although after going to a few games there are about 50k fans per team that don't agree. I like the idea of my own name or something witty on a jersey.

Now that you mention it, I did have a framed George Teague, Dallas Cowboys jersey that was gifted to me by my sister. The significance was that at one time in my I life, I lived at a 31 Teague Street, and at that time in his career, George Teague wore #31, which we thought was funny.
This thing showed up and was huge. I thought she had sent me a 70" TV, and was hesitant to open the package. It turned out to be wood and glass framed Teague Cowboys jersey. I wasn't a Teague fan, a Cowboys fan, or Packers or 'Bama fan, and really had no place for it, so it just sat against the wall in the living room for a year or two.
One day, the HVAC technician working on the inside unit noticed and commented it was a pretty cool framed jersey. He also commented that he and his kids were big Cowboy's fans. Then he mentioned his last name was Teague, and there you have it, I gifted that thing to him on the spot. He came back after work with his van and picked it up, and it worked out for the both of us.

Honestly, that's your best bet. Get a retro jersey for a retired player who's not likely to do anything too embarrassing at this point.

I was at a work related silent auction where someone donated some jerseys that were replicas, but the very nice embroidered jerseys that mimicked the legit gear.
One of them was a Pat Tillman AZ State jersey and nobody was bidding on it. I bought it (cheaper than I am sure the company donating it paid), because Pat Fucking Tillman.
It is a great cover garment and can hide the biggest pistol you would ever wanna carry. It is probably pretty gray because it looks like some dood going to bar to watch a game. It is around here someplace, I need to find it...

Not my favorite player, but I have quite a few basketball jerseys. Was a young man during the throwback era and that was a whole vibe. ended up with a number of Mitchell and Ness throwbacks (favorites being my Celtics Russell and VA Squires Dr. J) and a whole bunch of random authentic jerseys for cheap after players got traded. Bought a couple of blank authentic jerseys for cheap, like $30 bucks, and sent them off to be personalized. Current favorite is my Orlando Magic Scott Skiles jersey I had personalized. Also have a few baseball jerseys, Reggie Jackson Oakland A’s away, a Mo Vaughn NY Mets, and a couple of blank Nationals Authentics I need to send out for personalization.
The only player jersey I have that’s younger than me is my rookie year Lebron.

The problem with a jersey bearing your favorite player's name in his home team colors is that players are mercenaries and he might well be with a different team next season.

I feel totally justified, since I'm technically a part-owner of the Green Bay Packers; one share of stock, baby!

Had an actual Lyle Alzado jersey when he played for the Raiders.
I had a slight Resemblance to him looks wise, but personality wise could have been his brother when I worked in the DOC and was doing some Pro Wrestling in Puerto Rico.
A lady friend of Lyle gave it to me at a party in Florida she had a few drinks and was wearing the jersey and gave it to me :o a good friend who I still talk to once a Month use to own a gym on Biscayne Blvd in Miami ... some heavy hitters showed up every now and then Burt Reynolds was there that night and Superstar Billy Graham.
This was before cell phones and Facefuck so no one was worried about making the news or being on YouTube.
