I'm headed out to the woods to sled with the kids but if you're sitting by the wood stove thinking about the woods and revolvers then give that a read.

Then while you're sitting there thinking about sixguns read this

Count me in as a fan. It was my Grandfathers preference and I really enjoy them as well. I have a 5 inch model 28 that was converted with a model 57 barrel and cylinder, along with a Model 58.

My"BBQ gun" is a 4" nickel M57 no dash. I actually used to carry it.

I have some .41 Magnums. The last times I shot at The Pin Shoot in
Central Lake, MI I used a three-inch M657 on some events.
Picked it because it had the best trigger of all my .41s.

Have shot other .41s in local steel plate matches. No
problem taking the steel targets down--if one can hit them.
Did well at one with a six inch M57 and loads I made for
pin shooting. Shot another steel match with an eight and
three eighths inch barreled M657. More movement/running
in that one. I didn't do as well there. The gun worked
fine.

I have also found the .41 to be an easy round to reload.
Unique powder and Winchester primers work fine.
Finding slugs for it has also been easy. I usually use
215 to 230 grain lead semiwadcutter bullets.
