Rule clarification: are SERPA holsters allowed? I don't see why not, per the rules, but I thought I'd ask. (I don't like them, but the only real holster I have for my J frame is a SERPA.)

Aha! I knew it was too good (I mean bad) to be true. I just realized I was looking at an earlier draft version of the rules, thanks.

Waitwaitwait...did I read that correctly? I won't be alone in the wheel-gun class this time? WOOHOO!!!

Hmm, I guess that means I've gotta start practicing =)

Thanks again to all for hosting an excellent match. For a short hour, tightly run as always, it still winds up being quite a bit of fun and well worth the time to test a few fundamental skillsets against the problems presented.

And given the hints about a potential 2013 "nationals"... fingers crossed that it comes off.

In the meantime, hope to see many of you out at Peacemaker come the 15th for Bill's IDPA match (weather permitting.)

Thanks again for another fun match! Shooting a FTN and not realizing it just might be the kick I need to get my act together for next year.

Thanks for running a tight ship and making my first competition shooting experience a good one. See you all in January if not before at NRAHQ.

Thanks to the staff and set-up crew for another fun and well-run match! The turning target with the shooter-selected par time was a cool twist. I shot the FPAR Failure Drill DoW yesterday, which helped a lot in judging a realistic par time. Looking forward to the January match!

Thanks to the Staff and the KSTG volunteers for running the match safe and fun!
I guess we scared off all the non-threats...didn't see any in these stages.

I liked using the turner and PAR time. It might be fun to use two of them, one maybe set to half the time of the other or maybe one a non-threat at a challenging angle, or staple the non-threat to the target...just some ideas for the future. It was fun to shoot.

Huge thanks are deserved by JConn, JV, joshs, and mariodsantana who were able to un-screw a major screw-up on my part in terms of stage planning. With less than half an hour before the match had to start they literally had to move the entire match and set it up all over again. Thanks for saving my butt, guys!

Gah, procedurals and FTN's get me again. As for helping out, any time! It was very educational and I recommend anyone who can commit a half-day to ask staff for the option to volunteer - it's eye-opening to see the match from that perspective.

HOLY SMOKES! I moved into C-Class with a wheelgun?!? Even when I had that 'dump pouch' reload* on the first target? Sweetness!

Thanks to all for putting on a fun match!

*my Dade Screw Machine Co. speedloader prematurely dumped all the ammo into the speedloader pouch when I went to reload for the first target; I pulled out an empty speedloader, recognized that the ammo was still in the pouch, chuckled, ditched the speedloader, and went right to the second speedloader (which happily hadn't prematurely released) and continued the sequence. Todd and I were both amused at that =)

Thanks Todd for a great match. You guys were all great for the first time shooters. Now I've got a baseline to work on

KLE, rumor has it you'll have a partner shooting with you in R-class next time...

I've been toying with the idea of using my j-frame for the next match.

I agree - the guys were very first-timer friendly.

Re: Revolvers - Bring it =)

I might have to shoot twice: one with my 'gamer gun' (S&W Model 586) and one with my J-frame (S&W Model 442-1).

In the .xls file, unhide the columns starting with G. Notice it goes from F to AZ?

My bad. Sorry for not unhiding that before uploading the files.

January's match could certainly be planned as more j-friendly with lots of short strings of fire.

:)

I have a 26, so it'd be a step up for me (and in some people's *ahem*Todd's*ahem* opinion, a step in the right direction) :)

Need to make some better mag carriers for it, though.

I have a 26.....

If everyone's abandoning the revolver idea, for a 26, we should have a lot of forced reloads :)

J-frames so long as no one breaks a set of T-grips this time...

And I'd love to see another re-run of "the penetrator"

Don't know if you looked at the raw numbers JC but you crushed everyone on Stage 2 (the woulda-been-lowlight stage).

Sweet. I didn't because I was so pissed about my spastastic performance on stage 3. But awesome.

Yeah. Doing the reload between arrays was definitely faster. Especially if you didn't happen to expose yourself to the second array mid-reload. ;)
