Anyone know the part number for the FBI mag release for Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks? Are they also available for Gen 3?

Anyone know who sells them?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of a factory version equivalent for the gen 3 Glocks. I use the Tango Down/Vickers magazine catch in my gen 3 Glocks.

Yep, for Gen4/5 you have to look for:

8794 - Magazine Catch Reversible Extended +0.75 - fits 9mm, .357, .40 Gen4 & Gen5, G19X,G45 (Excludes G36,G36FGR,G42,G43,G43X,G48)

A Gen3 FBI/oval/extended mag catch used to be a factory OEM offering, and it required the user to cut the frame to accommodate the phisically larger button.

Part number was SP03294 and here is one available on ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/175817073652). I saw a fair amount in the wild back in the day, but I would imagine these are largely unobtanium nowadays. Maybe worth a call to Glock now that you have the part # .

The 8794 catch is the one I use for the Gen5 guns, and I like it.

The oval catch requires the frame to be cut to accept. According to the information from the Advanced
Armorer course, the oval catch was for an overseas customer, and is rarely seen in the US. I do not see it on the parts list on the Glock website. There was/is an extended catch for the third generation, #1981, which extends past the frame perimeter.
The Bureau had a slightly extended catch, but I don’t see it listed.
The Tango Down/Vickers release is not extended, but to my thumb has an efficient shape. I have one on aGen5 26 I carry frequently. They also have versions for Gen 3s and earlier(single sided).
Just FYI…

I believe Glock's part number for the 17M/19M mag catch is 33713, which hasn't been available on Glock's Certified Armorers' parts list. I don't know if the part will ever become available.

Thanks for the info. That link to Midway only states Gen 4. Is that just an omission in their description? It also works with Gen 5?

I won't say 'yes' or 'no' because I dont work for Midway. That said:

Midway product page states Manufacturer #: 8794

My post above (straight from Glocks official parts list): 8794 - Magazine Catch Reversible Extended +0.75 - fits 9mm, .357, .40 Gen4 & Gen5, G19X,G45 (Excludes G36,G36FGR,G42,G43,G43X,G48)

Gen 4 and 5 are the same, and I have about a dozen of these, bought from Midway, in use in Gen 5 pistols.

Great - thanks again.

I've always used TangoDown/Vickers mag catches for my Gen3/4/5 guns and been pleased. They are mandatory replacements on a new Glock, just like new sights.

Do these extended OEM mag catches offer any benefits?

I have always used the same as RAM. I too would like to know if there is an improvement using the Glock part.
