Shotgun Skills builds upon the foundation taught in Home Defense Shotgun to help you chart a path from competence to true proficiency with the defensive shotgun. We push speed, accuracy, manipulations and introduce specialized topics in Shotgun Skills that give you the ability to use the shotgun with the same kinds of speed, accuracy, and accountability as any other long gun.
Foundational to that effort is teaching recoil mitigation, something precious few instructors actually know how to teach well. We believe it's impossible to learn on a gun that's kicking your butt...so we stop that from the start by teaching and coaching you on proper recoil mitigation techniques that tame the 12 gauge.
You can see what that looks like in this video from TFTB:
https://youtu.be/r3ZNJe1f0F8
Minimum round count: 125-150 birdshot, 25-50 buckshot (at least 10 rounds of buckshot you would use for defense), 25 slugs (NO STEEL OR TUNGSTEN SHOT ALLOWED!) Note: With the current ammunition situation it may be difficult to locate buckshot. If you cannot get your hands on buckshot or slugs for practice and patterning, that's OK...we'll work around it in class.
