I have shot a few drills at this point and always looking for more as to not stagnate. In my search I have found another question, most of the drills that I have seen have you shooting at 7 yards probably more than any other range(for the most part). So my question is, why 7 yards?

Thank you.

Probably because of the Tueller Drill.

At a lot of indoor ranges, 7 yards is the minimum distance, to avoid people shooting the ceiling/floor/walls.

Seven yards became a standard during the early development of CQB techniques and training. It was seen as the longest distance normally encountered inside a typical residential or office structure, an approximation of the diagonal from one corner to another in a room 15x15. Obviously that logic isn't concrete but it certainly reflected most early (and many current) shoot houses.

Subsequent experience has taught that seven yards may actually be on the long end of the distance needs for typical self-defense and domestic law enforcement handgun shootings.
