Anyone used them? They look nice from the pictures. Have a Gen 5 profile, but are Gen 3.

Good value!

That’s kinda what I thought if they’re well made.

Haven't used their Glock slides, but RemSport/TR-Enabling is well known in the 1911 world; I'd buy one with confidence and expect it to work and fit out of the box. YMMV of course, but they are not known for sending out messed up components.

I thought they had kind of a "meh" reputation in the 1911 world? At least that was the impression I got 4-5 years ago. If that's not the case or if they've upped their standards, this could get me back into the Lego-Glock world.

Looks good but I legit hate the fact that they put the rear sight cut so far forward. Aesthetically that's the worst part about milling a factory slide, the dead space behind the sight that doesn't need to be there. It also has a functional negative that it prevents the gun from fitting in some older gen safariland RDO holsters...

IMO their rep is square in the middle-upper tier; slides are broadly interchangeable with Caspian (who are themselves known for the occasional miss...) Barrels will be light years better than any of the usual "drop in barrel" suspects (MidwayUSA, Sarco, etc). I dunno if I'd take one of their finished slides over a JEM finished slide for example...but I wouldn't feel like I cheaped out on getting one, either.

I'd take one of their Glock slides over a generic "P80" branded Glock slide, or maybe even the Brownells slides, to be honest...but that's also just me; YMMV.

Thanks, that's good to hear. A build on a JEM frame and slide is still on my "someday" list.

thanks for the link...

I bought a cosmetic blem gen 3 frame last year because for $39, how could I skip it?

I figured some day I would find a cheap slide... I already had a spare barrel. So I will have a knock off G19 for less than $250.

I’ve got a threaded barrel just sitting in my parts box. It’s getting lonely. Maybe I’ll have to do a side by side comparison/review to my Brownells slides. And maybe I’ll have to take the PMM single port comp off my G26 slide since I never use that upper anymore and combine it with a Remsport slide and threaded barrel.

I wish they made an ACRO cut for that price.

Decisions, decisions.

Please post some pics when you get it.

Finally bought one of these for my non-Glock Glock project. It’s a pretty nice slide for the $$. There is a paper thin gap in between the back of the Holosun and the slide. But with the raised bosses I’m not worried about it. GL-429s are on order.

Fantastic, thank you. About same as my Aim Surplus slide, but better in that it has bosses.

Problem now, I search for them, and it's as if TR Enabling's site is down.

ETA: NVMND, it's back up.

Don't know how they'll do on that slide but on my Glock slides, GL-429s hit several inches low at 30-45 feet. I can aim at the top edge of a 3x5 card at 30 feet and rounds will hit at or just below the bottom edge of the card. The max I usually practice/shoot at is 45 feet and there's not much of a change in POI. This is on both a G19 and a G17, with 147s...factory sights btw will hit just about exactly at point of aim. I have NOT tried the sights at 25 yards...but I don't think that there will be several inches of difference at that range?

I ended up ordering this. I bought one of their Blem Frames a few months back for $39…. Got a threaded barrel on sale for $35…

It may suck. But when the parts were this cheap, I decided to roll the dice.

That’s a good looking slide from the pictures. Be interested to see how the optic fits down in the cut and what kind of gap there may be. I just got an AIM G17 slide. It’s a really nice slide, but I’m not thrilled with the amount of gap left after the sight was mounted. I tried 3 different brands (Trijicon, Holosun and Swampfox) and all had a gap. Since there aren’t any raised bosses, I worry about sheering a screw off.

Ok...be gentle...

Googled and came up with “yes” and “no”.

Can a Gen3 slide be used on a Gen 5 frame?

I have a POW that I’d like to experiment with. Would rather not cut the slide. It’s a Gen5 G19.

Thanks

It’ll work. You’ll need a Gen 5 backplate and a spacer to fill the gap at the front of the slide.

Appreciate the direct response. I trust what I read here vs. all the various trash that’s out there.

So as far as slide internals and barrel goes...anything special there?

(Believe it or not, I’m a Glock noob.)

You’ll never go wrong w OEM internals. Having said that, I’ve had pretty good luck with AIM parts. Haven’t tried the Brownells Glock internals.

I’ve also had good luck with AIM barrels. I’ve got 3 or 4. For the $$ they’re tough to beat. Especially for an experiment. $34 for a stainless, DLC coated barrel: https://aimsurplus.com/products/aimsurplus-dlc-barrel-for-glock-19

$35 glock barrels. Threaded and non Threaded. For several variations, including the Gen5 17 they just added.
I have a couple. only fired about 10 rounds through my threaded barrel. Did not do an accuracy test, just wanted to hear how the suppressor sounded. Barrel functioned as advertised. No baffle strikes.

So could someone take this barrel and a 17.3 slide and run it on a G45 frame (with the back plate and spacer mentioned above)?

Having those lugs machined in the front of the slide cut out...is that preferable? I see some do, some don’t.

I went out and shot this set up tonight. Ran great. When I got home I took things apart and was comparing parts. Here’s what I found - I was using a stainless guide rod I bought by accident a while back. Was the correct length, etc. I compared it to the G17.3 guide rod that came with the slide parts kit I bought from AIM. The plastic rod was significantly shorter than the stainless one. I imagine the difference is because the G17.5 barrel has the 19 lugs which are in a different spot and require a Gen5 rod. So do not be surprised if you need to buy a different guide rod like this one:https://www.ismi-gunsprings.com/?product=m17-gen-5-guide-rod

The raised lugs give the optic something other than the screws to recoil against when the slide moves.

When I’m buying a pre-cut slide I prefer to have the raised lugs or the raised posts where the screws are threaded in (like Brownells slides). For slides I’ve sent off and had machined for a specific red dot I don’t worry about it as much since the folks I’ve used actually measure the optic I sent them and made it a REALLY snug fit. L&M (man I wish he was still in business) did exceptional work on the slides I sent him.

Yeah, I got that Combat Armory email too. I like that those are made of 17-4, like Brownells', cut looks deep enough, but don't like the lack of recoil bosses.

I've one of their barrels, under 2,000 rounds through, gun is 100% reliable, barrel is not quite as accurate as factory gen3, but is decent.

The CA slide reminds me of the AIM slide I have on a G19 build. Yep, no bosses, and slight gap with a Swampfox Justice. I mounted it against the front of the cut, to hopefully mitigate recoil effects on the screws.

1,116 rounds through the gun so far, through quite a bit of rough handling/training, hasn't lost zero, come loose, no problems whatsoever. Gun's 100% reliable with everything as well.

The CA slides are very interesting though.

Here’s another guide rod that should work. Frank Proctor brand. CPWSA has been good to go when I’ve ordered from them. I shot a 3 gun match with the owner (Chris Patty) years ago.

I ordered a complete Remsport non-optic 19.3 top end off their ebay store today. My SCT frame is waiting at my FFL and the blem Dagger lower should be there tomorrow.

One way or another I'm going to learn to like the G19 or piss away 17.5/G47 money trying! ;)

Not much info on Remsport slides, which is how I found this place. I missed the July 4th sale (they didn't have the G26 RMR in stock anyway).

I have a Combat Armory frame I'm building plus a G26 Gen5 frame, so I'm thinking of getting an RMR G19 slide and waiting to see when the G26 RMR gets back in stock. Then I can decide which one gets the 507C and who goes naked.

Great thread, I have lots of reading to do around here since this will be my first build.
