Just watched the whole thing.

Check that...

I just used a global communication network to watch video footage and telemetry streamed in real time from the edge of space, where a man privately sponsored by an energy drink company leaped into the black sky and went supersonic without an aircraft.

What a fascinating modern world we live in!

It was rather amazing. Talk about some major cojones!

Amazing! And crazy it took 52 years for someone to try it again!

That dude has some brass balls!! I guess he popped the chute a few seconds too soon to beat Kittinger's free fall record. An amazing feat nonetheless...

Having taken the Highest Jump, Highest Manned Balloon Flight, and Fastest Free-Fall Speed ribbons, I think he could afford to leave one for his mentor. Seeing certified bada$$ Joe Kittinger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kittinger) there on the other end of the radio through the whole thing was just wonderful.

From what I've gathered he wasn't going to be able to beat the free fall time record due to the speed get ended up achieving. If he'd fallen slower he could have gone longer in free fall. Kind of a catch 22.
Curious as to what happens to his launch vehicle?
