Good afternoon!

What/ where/ when are the different big USPSA matches, what I mean by that is, I come from Smallbore Rifle Metallic Silhouette competition where you had a state championship and you had a national championship, and that was really it outside if your normal monthly month. What are the big ones for USPSA?

Thanks!

Level 1: club matches. Anybody can shoot them, don’t need to be a USPSA member. There are something like 500 clubs nation-wide and on any given weekend (in some cases week days) there are a lot of club matches going on all over the country.

Level 2: these are typically State or Sectional Matches with sanctioning from HQ. Must be a member to shoot. Typically these are a one-day or maybe a two day event with anywhere from 8 to 15 stages.

Level 3: Area matches (the US is divided up into 8 Areas, or think of them as “regional” matches. Also sanctioned matches. Must be a member to shoot. These are usually multi-day events with 12 to 18 stages.

Level 4: Nationals. The last few years there have been multiple Nationals where they group certain divisions into the Nationals event. For example, in 2022 there was Classic Nats (SS, L-10, and Revo), 2-Gun Nationals, Carry Optics Nationals, Open/Limited Nats, PCC/Production Nats. These are always multi day events with 18-24 stages. Must be a member to shoot.

There’s also this tool off the USPSA website

In broad strokes most states have a championship and there’s also an “area” championship as well as nationals.

You will find each of the various level 2, 3, 4 matches are annual events and the level 1 matches are usually monthly, local weather permitting.
