I'd appreciate any help. When I try to log on, I get the following message.
100525
I've sent the email, but never receive a daily code. I've messaged Mr. Cotton on FB, but I never get an answer. I'm concerned that the email I have on file with TCHL is wrong. If anybody can get this information to an admin, I would be grateful. It should be "guybwheatley@gmail.com."
Or, just get my account reset. There, like here, My USERID is "Bigguy."

I'll send Carl a note when I get to a keyboard later this morning.

Charles has been absent or non responsive on new member requests since taking over at NRA. Hopefully Carl can get you sorted since it's only a login issue.

Good luck - I’ve been trying to register for a year now with RoyGBiv’s help but no luck.

Good luck - I’ve been trying to register for a year now with @RoyGBiv (https://pistol-forum.com/member.php?u=2513)’s help but no luck.

He's already been a registered member there for a while. Looks like just a password or login issue. Much greater chance of success on this one, I think.

I gave up years ago, when my login didn't work and messages for help were unanswered. Might have been part of the Wayne wars and some censorship then. Or that's what some suspected.

Sent a PM to one of the Admins and a PM to Bigguy with some questions...

Hopefully this one works out better than for HeavyDuty
FWIW, my PM to Charles on your registration request is still sitting in my outbox, unread.
(that's the way PM's work over there.... they remain in Outbox until read... different from here)

I lack patience to deal with barely functional websites and would hesitate to follow advice found on one.

So far the response is "Charles handles that"

I went back with a screen grab of exactly the code box /secret word needed from admin that is normally sent via email and has not been received.... Asked if any of the other mods could be of assistance. No reply yet.

Frustrating. Fingers crossed.

Try a different browser.

I've tried several browsers and several devices. Same result. I'm tired of messing with it. If they want to let me back in, I'lll hang around. If not, I've got this forum.

Sorry to say that after several polite, detailed pm's, all I got was "Charles will have to handle this." Since we know that Charles has been non-responsive, I'm not sure what more can be done. I may try the other mod but he's a moderator, not an admin, so I'd expect his authority/access to handle the problem to be even less. Sorry Bigguy.

Maybe it’s time to form an alternative forum for TX CHL? This is pitiful.

The guy that owns the forum, Charles Cotton, is the current President of the NRA, having been recently (last year) promoted...

I wonder, just guessing, whether.....
-- 1. He's wary of enrolling new members due to his new role? (doesn't explain the failure to maintain existing members)
-- 2. He's given up on the forum, now that we passed permitless carry? Which would be sad, since there's a lot of other useful information and discussion there...
-- 3. He's just too busy, but is failing to delegate adequately.
-- 4. ???

It is pitiful, indeed.

He really needs to pass the baton to someone who cares.

I sent a PM to Keith to ask for help for both you and Bigguy... If he's not able to help, I'm 100% out of options... Fingers crossed.

I appreciate your efforts. I rarely post comments there, but would like the option to post questions. Oh well, I'll keep reading as long as smart folks post interesting content.

If we can't get this fixed, feel free to send me questions and I can start threads over there that you can read... Until something happens to my access

I'll delete and resend the pm to him that's still in my outbox. Not sure what else to do.

Sorry gents.

I did. I even used different computers. It still says I'e exceeded my logon attempts and to contact the admin. I get no response.

I've noticed a thread titled "Forum Login issues." on Texas CHL forum.
This thread may have been a browser issue involving a few users. But I have noticed that there are days with only a single post. The last four posts go back two days. Other folks must be having problems.
I wish Mr. Cotton would turn it over to somebody who would maintain it.

My wife was having very similar difficulty with logging into her business banking account and I recommended she try Incognito or InPrivate mode on whatever browser she was using and it worked first try.

I gave up on them after similar issues and failures to answer. Not there anymore, so don't care. The forum became involved in the Wayne Wars anyway.

Maybe it’s time for a properly administered alternative forum.

For better or worse, the members are generally loyal to Cotton, but, I've spoken with two active members there that are thoroughly disgusted with Wayne and there was a story a few weeks ago that pointed out that Cotton is also chair of the audit committee, which did not sit well with anyone...

From April...
https://www.ammoland.com/2023/04/nra-settles-suits-with-ackerman-mcqueen-for-12-million/

We’ve lost about one-third of our Annual Members at this point, and revenue has been cut in half in just four years. Someone needs to answer for those failures. Suggesting that the people who created the mess are the only ones who can clean it up is ridiculous. Claims that there’s no one who could effectively take over from LaPierre are equally ridiculous. Then there’s Charles Cotton, the man who, as Chair of the Audit Committee, completely failed in his job of keeping NRA’s financial and personnel matters above reproach and who, as President, Chairman of the Special Litigation Committee, and of the Executive Compensation Committee, has been one of Wayne LaPierre’s most ardent defenders, while keeping LaPierre’s salary well above a million dollars per year, and keeping the Board in the dark about minor things like declaring bankruptcy. Astonishingly, the Board is now preparing to change the Association’s Bylaws, just to allow Cotton to serve a third term as President… Sheer lunacy.

Cotton did a solid job keeping us informed about things like pending TX legislation, but he's fallen off the map the past roughly 2 years. TSRA blog and website is pretty woeful... but.. it would be interesting to reach out to them to gauge interest in setting up a replacement for TexasCHLForum under the TSRA umbrella, or with their support recruiting members...

I've tried to keep my NRA concerns out of that forum.... There is a lot of good TX information, especially when the legislature is in session...

It does feel adrift there recently.

It sounds like an enterprising someone needs to create a competing site.
