View Full Version : NightForce Zero-Stop... am I missing something?

Man, it's been nothing but hardware troubles for me and guns lately. Order the wrong sights for my G17 because there's no way to acquire the correct ones from SKD without ending up with an extra front post... then I learn that the Vickers slide release can cause malfunctions during a reload... and now it seems that my NightForce 2.5-10x scope doesn't have the Zero-Stop feature it was supposed to come with. I don't think the feature is a big deal, though I'm hardly qualified to say, but my order was for a Zero-Stop scope and that's what I should have.

Before I go ballistic, though, does anyone have experience with the Zero-Stop on NightForce optics? Here are a couple of pictures of the scope with the turrets removed - I don't see the Zero-Stop clutches described and depicted on the last page of the Zero-Stop manual at http://nightforceoptics.com/pdf/NightforceZeroCompactMay22_12.pdf

Elevation:
1072

Windage:
1073

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

You are correct, you are missing the zero stop.

I have it on mine, and though it is sort of nice, I don't dial those turrets, and so it's mostly a waste. Depends how you intend to use the scope.

Its like a $200 upgrade, so make sure they didn't charge you for it...

If you did order them, I think a quick call to Orofino will get things rectified one way or another.

I found a significant difference in POI at 25 yards between cheap practice surplus ammo and Hornady AMAX with my SCAR 17, and that's the only use I have for ZeroStop on my 2.5-10x24.

Thanks for the sanity check, guys. I hardly know if the feature would be useful, but I paid for it, so...

Pics, of what it should look like, are on page 2:
