Something is strange with these M&P9 magazines.

Picked up a new M&P9 Compact yesterday. Something seems strange about these Compact 9mm mags, but I can’t quite put my finger on it?

Yep. I assume this pistol was packed on a Friday.

I was planning to buy a bunch of mags eventually anyway. And I have plenty of 17 round full sized 9mm mags to use in the interim.

Mistly disappointed I didn’t catch it at the LGS. Although in the end I round probably have accepted the transfer.

S&W told me to keep the .40 mags, so I will be selling them. I have full size .40 M&Ps, but no compact .40s, and I need yet another pistol like I need a whole in the head.

So yes, they’re for sale :)

This is correct; it's a well known fact that magazines are gun seeds. Fill them with rounds, and a gun will grow around them.

Yep, they definitely packed the wrong pistol for those mags.

You could try them in the gun - they may work. I once bought a stack of used M9 magazines and one of them turned out to be a 96 (.40) magazine. Works fine in the 92, never realized it until I was inventorying my mags and had already run hundreds of rounds through it.

Put in the range bag as a practice only mag, but it does work.

Lol this reminds me of when they sent a K-frame revolver manual with my E-series 1911 a few months ago. Good stuff.
