Was this ever a thing? I’ve seen tapered 5” 10s.

I believe RCMP had some in this configuration. I know they bought Ruger Service Sixes that way in the 1980s.

This would be a good project gun off of a 6” - you could add a better front sight, too. Just spitballing.
Edit - wait, I’m not sure 6” HBs were ever done.
I believe RCMP had some in this configuration. I know they bought Ruger Service Sixes that way in the 1980s.
I checked my SCSW and confirmed the RCMP had some 5” models but it didn’t say they were HB. Couldn’t find any reference to a 5” HB. Don’t remember seeing a 6” HB either.

We’re they built in .38, or .357.

The Rugers built for them when I was with the company were all .38 Special, square butt with lanyard loop. Majority were matte blue, but 350 revolvers intended for the maritime provinces were gray finished stainless.
