Just picked one of these up on sale. Those of you who own one, tell me what .22LR ammo runs well so I don't have to experiment with 15 different types and brands to figure it out myself.
thanks

I’ve had good results with Federal Auto Match and Aguila Super Extra which, IME is equivalent to CCI Mini Mags.
An acquaintance of mine has one that I have shot on one occasion and it ran everything without issue. Winchester bulk to CCI mini mag. All in total about 500 rounds that day. That being said it was a well broken sample so maybe that helped. Regardless, from that day forward I have wanted one.

My rifle, that I bought a while ago, has ate everything I've put in it. My pistol, that I bought right after they came out, has been finicky and I haven't found what it likes yet.
Mine ran like crap until I replaced the extractor with Volauartsen. Since then it’s run everything I’ve put it in- mostly Fed bulk packs and Aguilla.

My 15/22 SBR likes the higher pressure .22, not so much the standard pressure.

Mine liked Aquila Super Extra then it didn't. But overall it will run everything except 30 year old Remington Golden Bullets and Viper(?) my father still had. But neither does my Savage MkII.
If it starts choking, clean it, clean the mags, lube and truck on.
If still chokes after that, switch ammo. Still having problems? Guns broke, send it back to the mothership or get a new one.
Every one of my .22s likes different ammo, and their preferences can change depending on the batch of ammo I'm using.

Norma Tac and CCI standard, I know for sure (suppressed).

Bought my 15-22 in 2018 for steel matches & quickly discovered it functions VERY well w/ CCI mini-mags (36 & 40gr.) w/ 4Kish rds. thru it now.

Mine has liked everything I’ve ran thru it…
-Remington Thunderbolt RN
-Remington Subsonic HP
-Winchester Super X RN
-Winchester copper coated bulk HP
It is the current pistol version. And with an 8” barrel, it gets high velocity up to supersonic. Tried a few rounds with my Beretta Bobcat and Rugged Oculus… but the one thru the M&P was a surprise to me (and likely neighbors).
I have two of them. One has proven to only be reliable with CCI Tactical AR. The other has been fine with the aforementioned ammo and some bulk Winchester I've had on hand for a while. I buy the CCI stuff whenever I can to try to build a supply.
My rifle is a relatively early example, but I just put almost 600 rounds of CCI standard velocity through it with nary a hiccup.

Mine was also early but I don’t think I’ve ever noticed it being picky about ammo. CCI is my go-to and has probably been most of it but I’ve used a ton of stuff.

Mine is an early one and has run fine with bulk Winchester and Federal.

I've used a lot of Aguila, CCI std, sub and super poly, mini mags, rem thunderbolt.
I think it was GJM who mentioned swapping the chamber to keep it running. Ever since I started doing that Ive had 0 malfunctions. I usually hit the chamber with a q tip and CLP before taking it out.
I also installed a volquartsen extractor in mine. Suppressor also seems to help.

Another vote for the CCI Tactical. We have a bunch of 15-22's for work and we've run a bunch of it over the years and it is very reliable.
A long time ago, I did some accuracy testing and found big differences between particular loads in my rifle:
My results for five shot groups, center to center were
Aguila Golden Eagle Match: 0.658"
CCI Standard Velocity: 0.851"
Aguila Super Extra: 0.979"
Winchester Wildcat: 1.04"
CCI Mini Mag: 1.20"
Remington Target: 1.98"
Federal HV Match: 2.08"
Mine ran like crap until I replaced the extractor with Volauartsen. Since then it’s run everything I’ve put it in- mostly Fed bulk packs and Aguilla.
Same experience here.

Out of stock at Brownells, but I’m ordering these. Not expensive, good chance they’ll work.

Mine runs with any crap I put in it. (Well except CCI Quiets I use for chipmunks) My shooting partner didn't make out so well, he needs to run IIRC CCI Minimags in his.

I put in a Volquartzen extractor and firing pin and that helped but my pistol is still not reliable. I have been alternating between being busy and being sick for the past several months and haven't has a chance to get to the range in way too long. I need to take a bunch of ammo to the range and see if the thing just needs a break-in like my 10-22 did, if it's picky on ammo, or just defective.

My only regret is that I did not get one of these long ago. I put in a Volquartsen extractor and firing pin before I took it to the range for the first time today. Ran about 300 rounds of Federal Automatch without any problems, grouped well, I think this thing may deserve a better scope like a LPVO of some sort.

I was able to drop in an old spare Rock River two stage match trigger I had in my parts box, used the blue S&W factory hammer spring that came in the gun and that combo worked great.
I have a CMMG version of the Ciener conversion and some black dog magazines that have been my .22LR AR solution for almost 20 years, this thing blows that away.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your past experience with this model.
