New SRP (1.5" gun, spec'd similar to a Pro):

It's interesting to compare a "real" SACS Professional to the Baer. In fact, to me, it is very easy to see the lineage of the Pro as a result of Baers tenure at SACS. For those who don't know, Baer is largely responsible for the rise of SACS, not to take anything away from Williams.

Also of note - the "Dupont S" coating in use at LBC has markedly improved over the last year. It is now a very attractive matte finish, reminiscent of BearCote, but appears to be a little harder.

Sweet gun, I am interested to hear your observations and comparisons to your other 1911's.

I have always liked Baers and wanted one with no roll marks, no FCS, and blued.

If it's anything like mine it will be laser of a pistol, only issue I have with mine is when sprung w/ a 16lbs recoil spring it won't cycle when shooting one handed unless I have the utmost death grip on it. Two handed no issues. Had to go down to a 13lbs spring to get it to work reliably weak hand only. Haven't really messed with it since then, need to either have Baer check it out or see if it will run with at least a shock buff installed.

13rd spring???? For a 45????? Somethings seriously wrong if thats the case.

I run 18lb springs and shock buffers for practice/comp w/ all my 1911s. Never when carried though. Nice hot 200g XTPs for carry, 200g LSWCs over 5g Bullseye for comp/practice (not exactly "hot" but it makes major w/ comfort).

All my Baers have been, like you said, laser accurate. Due in no small part to the Kart barrels. They are still the darling of the Bullseye crowd. Barsto is a distant 2nd in my experience.

I will say, this SRP is one of the tightest I've gotten from his shop, and the 50yd target group isn't over 1in. And the 20lpi checkering is vastly superior to the 30lpi from his shop.

I'm going to put VZ grips on it - I cant stand that bright orange. It's hurting my eyes. Some of the guys here at work even laughed at them!

Really nice! I want a Baer UTC pretty bad, but that SRP look's like a great 1911.
