Need opinions on logo

[SecondsCount]

Mrs. SecondsCount has been holding informal shooting workshops for ladies for the past couple years. Recently she decided to get more serious and join the NRA Women on Target program.

We have been working on her website and logo, and I wanted to get some input from you guys.

I don't think the pistol clearly represents an F, I find it aesthetically meh. Maybe move it with the rose and just use font?

What it really needs is one of those female pedestrian stick figures holding a gun while a male stick figure lays bleeding at her feet. That would get my attention.

Being from Texas, and not having had dinner yet, at first glance I read the logo as "The Armed Tamale".

I read the logo before I read your text, so, take it as just one (hungry) data point.

I don't immediately read the pistol as an F, either. I think you need a bolder font face to pull it off using that image. The rose doesn't seem to fit. Maybe something that suggests teaching/instruction?

I would be happy to look through your website, when it's up. I made them professionally in previous life.

I did get the 1911 was an F but agree the word "female" doesn't sit right for me.

I asked Mrs. Pennzoil about the logo and she said the font was too feminine, you should lose the rose, and add a subtle touch of pink. She also mentioned it looks like your trying to hard to gear the logo towards females:p.

After meeting Mrs. SecondsCount and seeing her shoot I wish we lived closer so the women in my life could attend her workshop.
