Many of us here I’ve been shooting for a while have Gen 2 or Gen 3 Glock 19s or Glock 23s in the safe.

For about or slightly more than the cost of having one of those old OEM slides cut for an optic PSA is now selling RMR cut slides with lower 1/3 or suppressor height sights for between $159 and $179. These slides include everything except the barrel and recoil spring assembly. They also include a cover plate in case you are not mounting an optic right away.

I ordered one of the $169 models. It arrived today and so far I’m impressed. The machining and finish are well done, there are no sharp edges, and it passes Glock Armorer function checks. I install the dagger slide on my lone Gen 3 G19 as well as a pair of Gen 2 G19s. The slide fit and dry functioned on all three guns.

If this works out it may be an economical way to breathe new life into older guns.

If I read correctly, in the other post, you said you bought the ones with the Ameriglo night sights?
If so, can you show what the front sight looks like?
Their item description and image of the sights (when looking at the parts individually), don't match.

The one I bought only has tritium in front with a U notch rear. I would’ve preferred plain black sites but that model was out of stock at the time.

I was hoping you would SHOW the front sight. They list it as having a white ring, yet the parts image, shows no or a black ring around the vial.

Waiting for an update once you shoot it. I have a few Gen 3's that might benefit from these slides. Being able to keep the factory slide OEM is a huge bonus.

Thanks for the heads up.

There’s no white ring. Not that I care since optics are the primary sighting system.

Mounted an old RMR 02 with a Battlewerx sealing plate and screws from a Trijicon sealing plate kit. The screws which come with the RMR are, as usual, too long. The BUIS are Lower 1/3 (or slightly less) with the RMR. Mo’ window mo’ betta. There is a slight gap front and back but fit is what you would expect for a generic budget optic cut.

Thank you.

I just wish the description matched the item sold. When they don't, I've had too many gambles on which I would get.

I got the Dagger slide out to the range and got it zeroed this evening.

The Good:

Ran 150 rounds (50 Monarch Russian steel case 115 FMJ, 50 Blazer aluminum 115 FMJ and 50 124 grain +p Gold Dots. without issue.

83863

83864

Monarch at 25 yards

83865

Gold Dots at 25 yards.

83866

The Bad:

I forgot how incompatible older Glocks are with high grips:

83867

83868

The Ugly:

As it got dark I shot using some handheld light techniques. There was a group of young guys in the next bay in plate carriers shooting suppressed long guns under NODS. Suffice to say all of them were younger than my 1992 vintage GEN 2 Glock 19…… :-/

One of my coworkers showed up with one of these slide setups this morning. Initially we are all pretty impressed. No rounds fired but it clicked right onto my old 19 frame and functions perfectly with dummy rounds. I like the sights. They seem almost like a target version of the Trijicon HD XR sights that I just put on a Shield Plus, with a very similar sight profile and amount of daylight in the U notch.

Pretty decent deal on these - complete assembly with slide/barrel/recoil spring and a 507c for $419. HCM have you ran yours any more since earlier post? Holding up? Anyone else?

I have about 250 rounds through mine at this point. Not a high round count but zero problems so far. I am going out to the desert this weekend and plan to put another 150-200 through it in a single session. I will report back with an update.

Mine has worked so far. Only around 300 rounds so far, mix of Blazer aluminum 115, Federal 147 Syntech, and Federal 150 Syntech.
Mounted a Holosun 507 with the green ACSS reticule, went on just fine.

One complaint is for detail stripping the smooth backplate is a pain to remove.

I have not shot mine, the hand cutting thing put me off at. I tried slightly relieving the sharp edge at the bottom of the slide but haven’t retested it.

I bought one of the slides with the HS507C and ordered a frame as well since I’ve been looking for a G19 MOS for a year or more. Ya before it showed up I found the G19 MOS and bought it. Got it together and mounted the 507c then shot it last night. Put 75 rounds through it without any issues at all. Made A zone hits at 50 yards but can’t stand the grip. The finger groove is too narrow for my hand and the flared edge on the bottom catches my pinky right in the middle. Just not for me so if I keep it, I’ll sand the grip to fit.

As for the rest of it, the trigger, while serviceable, needs to be replaced and the slide is wider that a Glock so it doesn’t fit my holsters. Wound up using a G21 BladeTech holster, it’s loose but secure. With a little work, it might make a good truck/range gun.

Huh, my Dagger slide on a Gen4 G19 fits perfect in my JM Custom holster. It is molded for a TLR7 though.

Mine fit a PJ holster a little tight but would not fit in a BladeTech for a 17.

I never tried the slide on a Gen 5 frame. It says Gen 3 only so I didn’t bother.

I used a Strike Industries adapter to use it on my Gen4 frame. I don't think it would work on a Gen5 though.

I bet NODS are great if you need to shoot stuff in the dark... for boring people like me, I'd rather save the money and go to the range during the day :P

I need a slide like this for a G17, gen 4. I have an old Gen 4 G35 that is gathering dust, have been meaning to convert it to shoot 9 full time (eventually...), this would be a great option.

For a Gen 4 G17 the Brownells slides are nice but at least $100 more than the PSA Dagger slides.

In general Gen 2/3/4 slides work on Gen 5 frames if you use a Gen 5 back plate.

I have a Suarez slide that was recommended to do that.

It’s notched for the ambi release.

I also Dremeled a Gen 3 Rockslide G23 slide to make a notch to work on a Gen 5 frame.

Has the jury reached a verdict on these PSA slides on G3 Glock frames? Anyone have longer-term use to report? Thanks!

I tried one of the Dagger complete assemblies (borrowed from a friend) on my Gen 4 19. Range report here: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?58998-My-first-RDS-session

I fired 60-some rounds and only later learned that I need an adapter to avoid frame damage. It still ran fine and I'm dry firing it daily. The trigger pull is much worse than with the factory Glock parts - more than a pound heavier, with a formidable wall before the break. If I bought the assembly, I'd probably replace the striker, firing pin safety, and related springs with Glock OEM.

I have always been told the spacers/adapters are for aesthetics, and to prevent large foreign objects from getting into the gun, but that a Gen 3 slide, on a Gen 4 frame, won't cause damage.

I saw it in this post by ToddG: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?9237-Swapping-slides-on-Glocks-legal&p=153699&viewfull=1#post153699

If Todd said someone at Glock told him that, I believe it 100%. I still don't really understand the mechanism of potential damage, though. Strike Industries (who make the adapter plate) claim that it's due to excessive frame flex and guide rod movement: https://odysee.com/@StrikeIndustriesOfficial:e/SIGSAP2:0?src=embed

Well I've got one. It's been run on a gen3 and a gen4 G19 frame, just now over 400 rounds through, 100% reliable function.

Only thing I don't like is how shallow the optic cut is. Other than that, great. Have a Swampfox Liberty on it. So far, very good.
