Well, everyone I know is either not answering their phone or is otherwise occupied, but, I just found out about 15 minutes ago I passed the written exam for the Cincinnati Police Department. Physical/Agility test in 15 days, times like this make me wish I had been concentrating a bit more on my health and a little less on my shooting skills the last year or so. Oh well, positive attitude is everything. ;)

Thanks! 3,000+ applicant pool, so I didn't think it was really going to come to anything. Two of my buddies went with me and neither of them have gotten the e-mail yet. Kinda feel bad. :(

Way back in the day I tested for a medium sized police department.
Aced the physical test (2nd overall score), aced the written test, interview went pretty well, I think the psych exam was the hang-up...
:p

HAH! Well I went to college for psych, so I'd say I've self adjusted myself pretty well over the last couple of years.

I gather one can expect to be pretty busy. We see about 60-70 murders each year with a correlating number of ag assaults. I've been told, though this is rumor, to be prepared to work late evening to early am in and around Over The Rhine the first year or two. For those who don't know OTR regularly makes top 10 or 5 most dangerous neighborhoods depending on who's making the list. Obviously I have nothing to compare it to but I do know one thing.

It beats the hell out of working in Cleveland. ;)

It should hopefully. My money lately has gone either towards a) my divorce or b) towards my (ex)wife's expenses/bills. Never expected to be almost 30 and living in my mother's basement. It's been a rough year. :-/

Congratulations, and here's to hoping it's the start of a better, happier life.
But just in case, check the lug nuts on your cruiser the first time out, OK? :)

What's sad is how often I check those now. It's a compulsion.

I'm hopeful, situp portion of the test, no problem. What I'm running into currently:

300M sprint, haven't ran it recently, but due to a previous injury (high shattered femur near the hip socket) I'm not what I consider speedy, I might be too concerned about this.

Also at the class I attended last weekend (random nice thing from my dad) I broke one of the knuckles on my right hand and sprained my wrist pretty severely. Pushups are currently excruciating. I was doing sets of ten yesterday and the pain was enough that I felt like I was going to vomit after each set. This has me worried.

Guess we'll see how my mindset is.
