Got notification that these came back in stock.

I don’t own a 22LR rifle at this time and was going to SBR my Kriss Vector 22LR…
But rather than pay $200 to put a stock on, I could get this… with a similar looking grip angle to the MPX.
I could run it in steel challenge or goof around or maybe it’d be something my kid could learn on eventually.
But they only come with one mag.
So I bought two guns to have an extra mag, lol.

I bought one of the GSG variants before the HK trade dress lawsuit. SBR'd it and put a can on it. Looks like this...

A lotta fun to shoot, and great for non/new shooters to play with. I put actual HK diopter sights on mine...

Are these made by Umarex? I wonder how they hold up and run over time, accuracy good too?

Yes Umarex in Germany and watching review videos the triggers look pretty decent to run fast.
I might use them for steel challenge to be stupid.
That looks like it would be a lot of fun. Now I’m checking one out…

Hope the trigger pack isn’t as stupid-heavy as all the other Umarex HK and Hammerli pieces. 9 pounds out of the box is common- you can do some spring work to get it down to 4.5# or so, but I would never call it “decent to run fast” compared to something actually good, like an AR Gold, SSA-E, etc.
At least they are pretty crisp. Just ridiculously heavy (as in “is the safety on?”) heavy.

Watching the videos of people running them really fast I would think it’s less than that. Mine shipped so I should be able to let you know in the future.

The only credible reviews I’ve found tag the trigger weight, out of the box, at 7-8 lbs. with a fairly long take up. So, it sounds pretty similar to the Umarex pieces I have. As mentioned, you can do some work on the trigger packs to improve on it. My 416 is much better than it came out of the box after doing some work on it, but still, not what anyone would call a match trigger.
On the other hand both my HK and Hammerli (with identical internals) have been quite reliable.

I can work with a 7# with reliability.
I bought some of those springs that take it down to a 4.5 if that maintains reliability.
My MPX has a 4.5 pound trigger. I’d take a little margin of reliability.

I’m sure it will run fine with decent ammo. I might just give my 416 a bit of Steel Challenge action later this month myself- I’m already shooting CO and LTD for that match, so why not add a third category? That thing is a tack-driver as it is, 4.5# pull notwithstanding.
I also kind of like the idea of getting the pistol version of this thing, paying the tax man his ounce of flesh and pile of paperwork, and putting a can and stock on it, just for giggles.
This kind of scratches some of my tacticool childhood fantasies….

22LR training analog for MCX / MPX.
I put a $15 optic rail on.

I measured it 4 times and all just over 6 pounds and the trigger feels pretty good.

Clearly a big improvement if it came out of the box that way.

Yes straight out of the box. I’ll check the other one today.
Definitely usable. Again from watching the videos of the people running them fast it looked like a usable trigger.
The reason why I opted for these was because I’m spending a lot of time with an MPX platform for gaming and this is as close to a 22LR MPX as you can get.

The other gun is even better.
Measures at mid 4 pound reproducibly.

There’s a nice feature where there’s adjustable bolt speed for different ammo.
That should increase reliability especially as things get gummy and dirty.
Soooo soft.
Very reliable.
25 yard group fine tuning zero. 2” paster.
1” group shooting quickly.

I have a several year old 416 with a Romeo 5. I got a threaded adapter so I can run my Octane 45 on it. The adjustable bolt is handy for tuning between super and subsonic ammo for sure. With the can and subsonic ammo it sounds like a BB gun. The trigger is horrific-I didn't know it could be tuned but since others have referenced swapping springs I'll have to look into that. It certainly is a lot of fun for cheap.

I don’t know what they changed.
But this trigger is pretty darn good.

Does this qualify as being able to run fast enough?
15-16 splits. If I got used to the gun it would be more consistent.

Yup, sure does. Both my Hammerli and HK416 versions of this action will do 0.14-0.16 quite consistently- the takeup and resets are very good on both of those. I’m sure with a bit of trigger time you can do better.

As a practical matter, I’ve never had to touch that on either the Hammerli R1 or HK416 versions of these actions- any decent quality .22LR has always cycled fine, even when the actions are filthy. Generally running Winchester (some of which has had a lot of primer issues unrelated to the firearm), Aguila, and Federal in the 38-40 grain ranges. (The Aguila 38 grain “super extra” runs particularly well, despite the cat urine odor.)
I’ve never run Remington anything in these.
I have a lot of guns and I think this is probably one of my most vary favorites.
As a trainer I think 22LR is very good for 9mm MPX PCC training since it’s mainly mechanics over recoil control.
I’ve now run this for a couple hours and it’s been excellent.
I am loving it.
1913 rail attachment and used an MPX stock.

Ordered the HK adapter to thread 1/2-28 to the pencil barrel.
Removed the very heavy shroud.
Without the shroud it might actually make a decent plinker for my daughter when she gets older.
I put my tiny Gemtech Aurora on it to save length and weight.

I could put a muzzle brake on it.
I am thinking of cutting the front iron sight off so I could mount a lower optic.
