I'm not sure why this is just hitting the news as the first report came out several months ago. I expect to run a few deer samples this season and hopefully get some preliminary data on seropositivity rates in my area.

we talked about it a few months ago in one of the covid threads. Two points:

1) the fact covid19 spreads in so many other species (deer, dogs, cats, rodents, etc), which is pretty much unheard of, makes me give a little more credence to wuhan lab leak theories.

2) the fact covid19 spreads in so many species makes me further doubt "herd immunity" (where covid19 dies out through inability to spread) is possible.
