I'm only frustrated that it took them this long to realize it's a stupid idea.

It really doesn't speed things up all that much to have the RFID stuff, either.
The QR codes work nice and fast for issuing or receiving, buttstock numbers work quickly on weapons counts. Both force you to look at a weapon.
