From CNET (https://www.cnet.com/news/william-shatner-to-rocket-to-edge-of-space-with-jeff-bezos-blue-origin/):

It's been decades since William Shatner first suited up to play the iconic role of Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise on Star Trek in the 1960s. The actor's about to get a lot closer to his fictional counterpart's accomplishments. Blue Origin announced Monday that Shatner is signed up to catch a rocket ride to suborbital space.

Rumors had been swirling that Shatner, who turned 90 this year, would be on the passenger roster for the second crewed flight by the space company run by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The rocket-powered New Shepard NS-18 mission is scheduled to take off from Blue Origin's West Texas launch facility on Oct. 12 at 6:30 a.m. PT. The company will livestream the launch.

I think that's pretty cool - I'm sure a lot of folks at Blue Origin got into the business because of the show.

Hope he finds a green, dancing beauty waiting for him. Would be funny if a passing starship picks him up.

What are the effects of the g-forces of lift-off on a 90 year old man?

I hope he survives the trip long enough to enjoy it!

I pray that Blue Origin puts the one true Captain Kirk on a live mike at some point during this flight.

I hope he survives too, but if he doesn't, it's a hell of a way to go at 90.

I don't care what you say. There is something deeply satisfying about William Shatner riding a giant cock into space.

Maybe he can have a rematch with the lizard man he fought?

Maybe he can catch a bus to the Galactic Rejuvenation Center.

Or just clock out like D.D. Harriman.

The match with Lizard Man is for the black powder guys. NO one can withstand the no-shirt Kirk double axe handle to your back! Does anyone remember the old show, the Defenders. William played a vet that was attacked by a guy in a monkey dance altercation. He switched to automatically killing machine and kill the guy. The defense was diminished capacity as the service made him into an automatic killing machine! Then the guy's relative attacked him in the courtroom and he switched on again. I don't recall if that got him off or it convinced him to change his plea to guilty as he felt remorse.

Everything went well. From ArsTechnica (https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/10/at-the-age-of-90-captain-fn-kirk-is-finally-going-to-space-today/):

Although the launch was delayed nearly an hour due to unspecified issues, Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft successfully took off from West Texas on Wednesday morning and safely landed 10 minutes and 18 seconds later. The capsule crested at an altitude of 107 km.

This was Blue Origin's second human spaceflight and garnered widespread attention because among the crew was Star Trek actor William Shatner, a guest of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos. “That’s unlike anything I’ve ever felt before," Shatner said upon landing. "Everybody in the world needs to do this."
