Just received the email from CHPWS regarding a new product. The PMM Independent Drop-In Rear sight for Trijicon RMR (https://chpws.com/product/pmm-independent-drop-in-rear-sight-idrs-for-trijicon-rmr).

An excellent concept that integrates the rear BUIS into the housing of the RMR. Unsure if compatible with RMRCC. It also does not list technical specs such as dimensions or required front sight heights. I really like the idea. Especially for a slide that is being directly milled. Eliminates the need completely for a rear BUIS dovetail and would allow the sight to sit as far back as possible. If compatible with the RMRCC, I may be purchasing this combo and having a Glock 48 slide set up with it.

PMM has had that for awhile, but they were declining to sell them independently of their milling jobs. I was really surprised to see CHPWS offering the RMR version today, so I reached out today to see if PMM was selling the RMRcc version as a part. They still won’t do it, and it looks like CHPWS is only selling the RMR version.

I just used the CHPWS live customer service chat to ask about this. According to the rep I messaged with, this sight IS compatible with the RMRcc.

I wish PMM would have told me that when I asked earlier today. Thank you!

Please let us know if you order one and it works. RMRcc with this rear sight seems like a great option for a P365/G43X/G48.

I just called them to ask about the back orders, and the guy I talked to said it was for the RMR only - but he didn’t sound particularly sure. If you ordered one, please report back!

I did not order one yet. I wasn't entirely convinced about compatibility yet. Given the responses of you guys, I'm glad I didn't order one yet.

I wish PMM would sell these separately.
Cool concept and product.
Regarding RMR vs. RMR cc, and this is pure speculation, because I don't own either, but it would appear that if the PMM drop in sight "body", threaded female vias, allowed for about 0.075" additional insertion distance (each), the PMM screws would fit flush into an 0.95" width RMR cc, as well as the 1.1" RMR. Otherwise, they'd be proud of the surface on the RMR cc by the same amount (0.75"). The openings the screws go into between the two sure looks almost identical.

Comparison pics showing height compared to the rears I’m using on my two dot equipped guns. Not sure what front height I’ll need when I eventually put this on a milled gun with no rear.

Did anyone end up confirming whether or not this will fit the RMRcc?

My guess is it will. When screwed all the way in, it is more narrow than the RMR body. I should have a RMRcc in the next couple weeks - can update for sure then if nobody else beats me to it.

RancidSumo I wonder if this would act somewhat like a “sunshade” for the rear emitter since it overhangs it some and help reduce the double dot situation at low sun angles. Have you had a chance to test for that?

Holy shit man thanks, I hadn’t seen this before. What a great product. I ordered three for various RMR guns I have.
Good thought on the sun shade. My polarized filters came the other day and I might try experimenting with placement and overhang to try and get a better sense of where the reflection is coming from (lens or emitter).

I’m very interested in whether this works with a RMRcc - my experiment using a RDS with no irons is coming along well, but this rear with a front might be my personal best compromise. I might try getting one anyways since my RMR is going on my 27.5 at some point so it will get used.

I just measured the IDRS with both screws in all the way finger tight and got 0.94", so that seems to match the RMRcc numbers RJ posted on pg. 1.

My order went through, so hopefully I’ll know in a week or so. I was getting conflicting info from CWPHS and I think I reached out to PMM before, but I don’t recall their answer and can’t find an email chain.

Good news! The version sold by CHPWS *does* also fit the RMRcc:

The not so good news - if you have a RMR on a MOS pistol, the required front sight is gonna be really tall. I just plopped it on my 19.5 MOS that uses a CHWPS plate and currently has Ameriglo GL-429s, and the IRDS sits much higher than the current irons. It should be fine for direct milled - whenever my ACRO P-2 gets here it will go on this 19, and the RMR will get moved to my 27.5 after Battlewerx mills it like my others. Given that PMM likely created the IRDS for use with their own direct milling services, this is not an issue.

Based on the excellent info provided by Ken and others in this thread, I have decided to try this set-up on the RMRcc I have on order. (It is supposed to be delivered today).
I ordered one of the DHPWS/PMM drop-in sights just a few minutes ago.
I had posted in another thread about my intention to send the slide from my CZ P10S and have it machined to accept the RMRcc in front of the CZ rear sight dovetail, and then install appropriate height BUIS.
But this gives me the opportunity to stop in and see Stuart at CZ Custom here in Mesa, AZ and discuss simply milling out the stock rear sight dovetail, directly (no plate) installing the RMRcc with the DHPWS/PMM unit attached, and replacing the front sight with one of appropriate height.
Once I have confirmed such an installation is possible, I will proceed. I look forward to hearing from Ken and any others that use this product on a Trijicon RMRcc.

You will probably beat me to it - this is a fallback for me, I’m still trying to go no irons.

I have recently been playing with a 407K on a G43 with BUIS and a CZ RAMI with a 507K X2 and no BUIS. Now i plan to try this setup if it proves to be feasible following my discussion with Stuart at CZC.
Red dot manufacturers and machine shops need to stop announcing new products and upgrading existing ones long enough for me to catch up, or I need to spend less time reading P-F!

Anyone found an alternative to the POS spacer PMM uses on the screws for the IDRS? One of mine fell apart and CHPWS doesn't have spares. Before I call up PMM to see if they will send some I'm hoping to find a solution that is more robust.

Mine isn’t in front of me - isn’t it just synthetic tubing?

Yes, but on one of mine when I screwed it together it split and unraveled around the screw.

I have one of these sights and do not have any instructions.
How are you guys installing these on an RMRcc?

I never updated this thread with my outcome, I did elsewhere. I ended up mounting these on two RMRccs and one RMR, the RMRccs on a 26.5 and a 43 and the RMR on. 27.5. They just drop right on, stick it in the sight and tighten down the screws. I used Dawson .300 x .125 plain fronts.

Are you tightening them until the screws bottom out or just until the rubber piece expands enough to hold it in place?

Just until the rubber expands firmly.
