One of my favorite actors in recent years. I'm terribly disappointed to learn of this.

He brought life to every character he played.

No more.

Damn. I liked him as an actor. He did an amazing job in The Wire and Boardwalk Empire.

Same here. I didn't watch The Wire, but enjoyed his performances in the other roles he played.

Omar quote thread.

“It ain’t what you takin’, it’s who you takin’ from, ya feel me? How you expect to run with the wolves come night, when you spend all day sparring with puppies.”

I'm saddened to hear this. I don't know much about the gentleman as an individual, but he was a fantastic actor.

'The Wire' is an easy contender for the best TV drama ever - certainly the best I've ever watched - and anyone who hasn't seen it should hop on HBO Max pronto.

I thought he did a great job as Chauky White, and I always liked seeing him in other roles.

RIP

Also as "Leonard Pine" in Hap & Leonard.

I have a number of favorite actors going back to the early De Niro and Pacino films...through Gary Oldman, Ed Harris and a handful of others who excelled at their craft.

Michael K. Williams was one who captured my interest and allegiance over the past several years. He will be missed.

Oh man! I completely forgot about Hap and Leonard. I love that show. Now this hits even harder.

"Yo what up, bird" was one of my favorite scenes.

You can’t post that and not post the clip:

Personally the later part of that scene is one of my favorites “Just like you man, I got the shotgun, you hit the briefcase”
