I'll be hosting Karl at my range in Culpeper for his Force on Force Instructor and Scenarios courses. I've done both and they're terrific!

10 Sep is the instructor course.

Force-on-Force Instructor
Topics: Force-on-force training concepts, safety issues, equipment, developing roleplaying skills, scenario design and evaluation, use of training projectile guns for marksmanship training, integration of training guns with unarmed force-on-force training.

Length: 8 hours classroom training

Prerequisites: Any or all of the following: NRA, Texas CHL or other instructor certification. Prior force-on-force training experience and defensive handgun training. Texas CHL or other state concealed handgun license. Others admiited to course based on instructor assessment (email training history).

Required Equipment: none.

Optional Equipment: A holster suitable for a Glock or 1911 handgun is useful. If you own your own Airsoft, UTM, Simunition or other FOF gun(s) or safety gear, bring it. See the general policies page for suggestions on food, drink, clothing, etc.

Additional information: This course is intended to teach pistol shooters and pistol instructors how to design and safely run Airsoft-based force-on-force training events similar to KR Training classes AT-2 and AT-7. Both AT-2 and AT-7 will be held on the days immediately following the FOF instructor course. Course attendees must assist with AT-2 and AT-7 to complete the instructor level course.

Tactical Scenarios is the capstone to the instructor class.

Tactical Scenarios

Topics: Integrating recognition of pre-fight cues, movement, communication, defensive pistol skills, post-incident actions, medical response, interface with known and unknown bystanders and arriving uniformed responders. The course will focus on realistic simulations of plausible situations relevant to the armed citizen and require appropriate use of force decisions.

Length: Eight hours

Prerequisites: State carry permit or instructor approval.

Required Equipment: Belt holster.

Optional Equipment: Students that own their own Airsoft gun, SIRT gun, red gun, Coolfire trainer or other training weapon that cannot fire live ammunition are encouraged to bring them to class. Students that have their own paintball/Airsoft mask, or other force on force safety gear (chest/neck/groin protectors, gloves, etc.) should bring them also.
