Thought I would pass these along. Useful information for the general population.
For the folks that don't realize they're living in a "Condition Yellow" world.

City of Houston posted these on their web site under the heading "Regional Terrorism Prevention".

First one is "Surviving and Active Shooter", second one is "Suspicious Behavior", third is similar to the second, but more specific to IED's...
Good, basic information for the general population.

The City of Houston web site also has links to these in Spanish.

ETA: Those of us in TX will appreciate the sign on the door at about 0:56. For those unfamiliar, this is the only sign that CHL-Holders cannot carry past. TX law defines quite clearly that "gunbuster" signs do not have force of law in TX. If a place is not off limits by law, and the owner wants to prohibit CC on the premises, this very specific sign is required. Notice that the BG, like the Honey Badger, doesn't care about even a valid sign.

Thanks! I was sort of surprised to see "fight" as an option. That's different...

Fight is the official last resort in CYA oriented training now. Our high rise office building just had the seminar with consultants trained at an FBI seminar with this curriculum. That's a much better video than the one we used.

I work in healthcare and even they recommend trying to stop an active shooter as last resort.

I have no evidence for this, but in quite a few of these instances it seems like the shooters killed themselves as soon as police arrived. I wonder if the thinking is that they might off themselves at the first sign of resistance...so why keep running?

Thanks for posting. Good to see at least one state has this, any others?? NJ has active shooter drills for some buildings/schools, but I have not seen/heard of any videos nor have I found a any with a quick google search. Oh, that's right, we don't have CCW in our state, so an active shooter can't carry concealed, duh

Some good points about "social hacking" in the 2nd video. People propping doors open, or letting others in behind them, unchallenged, is also a huge problem on college campuses.

That video initially felt a little "Orwell-ian" creepy to me at first, but I can see where multiple individuals making calls to authorities could serve as an indicator of the seriousness of a situation. i.e. If one person calls it's just one call, but if three, four, or more called about the same thing I could see that really raising the DEFCON level of the local authorities resulting in a prompt, speedy response. Good stuff.

That's been much more prevalent since 9/11. Having a bunch of untrained combatants may not be ideal, but it beats having everyone roll over and take it.

Agree completely that not going gently into the night is a good thing, just sort of surprised to see "fight" actually acknowledged as an option. I have received briefings prior to air flights that never mentioned stomping a mud hole in some hijacker's 4th point of contact.

The part that really jumped out at me was the fight section as well.
If you have to fight:
-Act with physical aggression.
-Commit to your actions.

Overall great video. It's good to see this information being produced and put out.

So one thing I noticed right away, is that the fictional villian walks up to the office building...

And as he strolls past the 30.06 sign, the camera lingers on it.

Now, I'm not saying that HPD is subtly telling people to ignore these silly signs, but surely that was not a coincidence?

I believe the producers were showing us the unmitigated stupidity of expecting a sign on a door to stop a BG.

"Stop right there"..... Or I'll say "Stop Right There" again... <eyeroll>

My thoughts as well.

I heard people talking about these videos, but its the first time I've seen them. They actually seem to be really good information, not your typical 70's porn music running in the background. Thanks for posting. I too immediately noticed the intentionaly subtle avoidance of the 30.06 sign. First thing that needs to happen is getting rid of these free kill zones. Its no accident that just about every one of these jackoffs making the news lately are going to these types of places
