I'll be heading up to CDA the last week of July to scout the area and see if I'd like to move up there.

If you've been or are a local, I'd like to hear about some spots to check out. Your favorite gun shop and shooting range is one of the things I'd like to hear about. I'll be with my lady-friend and kids.

Got in touch with Chris Walsh of Rev Realty. His webpage says he gives out a map of the area that takes 2-3 days to check out.

When you plan your trip, let me know your arrival date as soon as you can, and I’ll meet you the day after you get here, for breakfast. We’ll sit & talk, about weather, the types of people you can expect to find here, fishing, hunting, freedom/s, areas, snow, microclimates and SO much more! When we’re finished talking about the areas; I will provide you with a GREAT map of Idaho, and together we’ll mark out an itinerary for you to follow. Your (unaccompanied) trip to see the areas here will take 2-3 days minimum, and is incredibly helpful in terms of helping you to familiarize yourself with all that spectacular North Idaho has to offer. North Idaho is an utterly diverse area; travel 15 minutes in pretty much any direction & it changes, a lot; topographically all the way to the types of people. I’ll explain a lot of this at our meeting, then you & your family can take off & just go have fun! Make sure you plan on having at least a couple of days to see the areas; 3 is better.

I've bookmarked the best of CDA 2021 for printing out: https://coeurdalenepostfallspress-id.newsmemory.com/?special=Best%20of%202021&fbclid=IwAR032ycHhSGSFGr6Y_Yz4a9_DhHunNJY_TqUIbIKX MZiqWv3glkUweZ1mx0

We enjoyed our stop in CDA on our RV tour. I'll see if I can dig up my post on the visit.

Bring lots of money, as CDA is reportedly the hottest real estate market in the country with 40 or more offers for each listing. Nice area though.

Indeed. The growth has been disconcerting but I'm always happy to hear that pro 2A folks are trying to get in.
Other than my time with Uncle Sam I lived in Idaho (north of Couer D' Alene) most of my life. You'll find it to be a treasure I'm sure.

All great places IMO, I grew up around Priest River, and still live within a few miles today. I got to travel a bit in my youth but never found anywhere I loved as much as North Idaho.

Back when I had the idea planted about moving to the panhandle, Sagle was one I was looking at pretty hard. Found a really nice looking piece of property listed but wasn't in a position to be able to make an offer.

Sorry, I sorta went right past this part. I don't really use any of the ranges but Center Target Sports in Post Falls has a nice indoor range and gun shop. In CDA, the three gun shops I usually hit are :
Black Sheep Sporting Goods
East County Guns
Triple B Guns

Hope this helps some.

I understand there is a GSSF match in CDA this weekend, and they have a regular USPSA match at that same club.

Is there any place in Idaho where the real estate market isn't hot? I live in Canyon County. When we moved here 3 years ago our place was somewhat in the country, but now small developments are popping up everywhere. Of course Ada County, California East, is leading the charge to higher prices.

Great club. You'll find me there once a month at least.

USPSA, 3G and some other action shoots.

I was a member there for years until I moved out of the area. Great range!

I took my first “name” class there in 94 or 95 (LFI-1)

I took my most recent “name” class there (ECQC) a couple of times.

John Murphy comes up there next month. It’s a cool and bucolic range.
