If you've never seen it, it's pretty awe-inspiring and magical, especially for little kids. The whistle echoes like a steamship.

Yeah, watching a 132' locomotive & four or five cars totaling a million lbs start to move down a track, along with a whistle that could be heard miles away... pretty goose-bump-raising.

I’m trying to remember the one that’s parked outside of Duluth that worked the Iron Range back in the day. It’s right down the hill from a F-101 that sits on a pedestal. (That itself is a Memorial to 2 MN ANG pilots who crashed in the 70’s.

Looked it up. The one outside of Duluth is in Proctor off of US-2. It’s a Yellowstone class 2-8-8-4.

My Dad was a train buff. Big time. When he passed, I inherited numerous S Gauge brass locomotives that are models of those that ran on the Denver & Rio Grande back in the day. I had contacted the Historical Society pre-COVID in order to donate them in his name. I really need to follow up on that again and get those out there...

Would love to see some pictures of them, if you get a chance.

Can you imagine what it was like to be inside the boiler on that thing, rattling those rivets down when they were building it? WOW!

Not a problem. They’re downstairs in the original 1960’s era boxes. I’ll see what I can do next few days...
