I haven’t had much time for shooting of late, especially just some time to goof off. Today was in the low 50’s with enough snow gone to trudge out back without snowshoes. Took the afternoon off from projects and had some fun. Brought my 28 up with me this time. I haven’t shot it in quite a while. I tossed an assortment of 158gr reloads in the bag along with some odds n’ ends of .357s. Some PMC 158gr SP and some perhaps 125gr JHPs? Hard to say. Most were left over from some type of load development for something that has long escaped my brain. Steel at 25yds and went at it. I could not recall why I had got the Ahrends grips. The gun was originally bought with K frame targets on it and I bought some Eagles that were the correct size to remedy that. I tossed the Eagles back on and soon remembered why. They smack the inside of my thumb knuckle something fierce. Back to the Ahrends I went.

I still think I like the way the GP100 fits my hand better. It just seems more balanced. It can’t hold a candle to the S&W for looks however.

Out of a bit of bourbon induced impulse buying, I picked up a pair of stocks from Altamont. We’ll see.

They’re still just a scosch wide at the bottom. I don’t possess enough testosterone to take sandpaper to them. Altamont had some finger groove ones available...which was really a misnomer because it still takes 4-6 weeks to get them.

I didn't hesitate with my Custom Wood, Inc. stocks but you'll wind up with the prettier Highway Patrolman.
