After decades of loading on Dillon 550s, I am ready to buy a 1050 or 1100. Purpose - load 223 initially and 9mm eventually. Main driver - 223 primer pocket swaging. Looking for feedback on whether I should get the 1100 or 1050. Will use my multiple 550s or single stage for all calibers other than 223/9mm.

My understanding is that the die head/press stroke is longer on the Super1050. If you want to load 308 and 30-06 cartridge length, this could be an advantage. If you want to load pistol, this could be a disadvantage. Most other aspects they seem similar or identical.

They say the 1100 will do up to 308 but that's the "vertical" limit.

To me the biggest difference is the length of travel to the handle when loading on the 1100. The 1100 is definitely smoother but significantly longer "stroke". If you plan on automating down the line the 1100 has some things going for it, but if you are always going to run it by hand, I prefer the 1050.
