Can anyone recommend these?

I was banging on my HK P30 front sight tonight with a hammer and brass punch. Cant move it. I would like a universal tool for 1911, Sig and HK. I mess around with sights enough to merit the $300 these things cost if they work well.

I have a Sight Pusher Tool (Fisher) but it doesn't work very well. Every time I use it I want to throw the GD thing in the garbage.

I too have a Fisher, and man what a PITA it is to use.

Top 5 gun tool purchase ever, not even sure what the other 4 are. Does exactly what you think it will do, change any sights you want with ease. Have used on Beretta 92 and PX4 (notoriously tight rear sights), HK P30 and USP, numerous Glock slim and normal, and Walther PPS.

At home I use it in the vice for initial installs, take it to the range to fine tune.

If you own more than 1 pistol brand it’s worth it weight and cost.

Borrowed one from a buddy to change a Glock rear sight, some years back. The entire experience was pretty... unremarkable. Which I think gives compliment of the tool.

They are absolutely worth the money. I've changed sights out on every manner of Glock from the slim lines to the fullsize, H&K USP's, P2000's, P30's and VP9s, Sig P365's and XL's, you name it they were all a piece of cake with the Pro tool. Being able to buy a shoe to fit whatever gun you wish to change sights out on makes the tool invaluable IMHO. The tool mounts perfectly into a bench vice which is really nice. Being able to lock the slide in left and right and top to bottom prevents risk of damage to slide rails. It comes with derlin and I believe lead shims. I don't remember what material the metal shims were.

You can adjust where the "U" shaped clamp sits on the sights for drifting them by adjusting the height of the derlin chock on the top which can be replaced if need be, the tool can easily be stripped and oiled to prevent rusting. When I swapped front sighs on the XP365 I just reversed the top half to allow the front of the slide to run far enough back to slide the into the recessed portion of the lower block. This sight pusher is the best sight tool I have ever used. You will not be disappointed.

I hope this helps you.

I wish I would have purchased mine years ago.

Changing sights at home without having to use a hammer and a vise is nice. Being able to fine tune your zero at the range is a game changer.

It's $270 at Midway right now... Just sayin.

It's good - my shop has one.

Have you considered the Wheeler Engineering sight adjustment tool? It's 99% of the MGW and considerably less ($140).

I've used it for Beretta 92 (front/rear), CZ, 1911, Glock and others. Works very well. It's a bit more fiddly to get the slide locked down but it's well made and once you get it figured out is solid.

I put one of these MGW Pro (https://www.amazon.com/MGW-Sight-Installation-Angled-MGW309/dp/B07957SJWJ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2U67SGLJDUNPQ&dchild=1&keywords=mgw+sight+pro&qid=1609091672&sprefix=Mgw+%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-3) on my Christmas list. Didn't get it, but my birthday is in a few days so maybe then. Either way I'll eventually have one. You can use them by hand right? Don't HAVE to put it in a vise?

I have used mine on Glock and 1911 sights. It works well on any fixed sight and is easy to use.

There are a very small number of less common guns for which shoes are not available. Also, like most sight pushers, it may not be the best tool for installing an adjustable sight, since doing so would require pushing on a delicate part of the sight. With the exception of those two limitations, it is the best tool available to my knowledge.

The vise is completely optional.

Yes you can use it by hand I have used it at the range plenty. For reference I was talking about this tool, it's $200 at Brownells:

++ on what everybody above said. I still use a hammer and punch a lot (with vise-mounted slide), but the MGW tool allows fine adjustments at range. And carrying bench-mounted vise to range is . . . problematic.

That's actually the one I was talking about also. I don't think I'll have any pistols it doesn't work with.

Borderland, I was reluctant to spend half the cost of a gun for this tool, but I can’t imagine not having it now. If I charged a $10 fee for use it would have paid for itself already.

I've had one for a couple years now. I haven't really used it much but it has worked quite well for the 5 or so sight replacement or adjustments I've had to make. It an fairly expensive and time consuming way to adjust your sights but it works really well.

If all you are wanting to do is drift a sight you might want to look into the Wyoming Sight Drifter (https://www.wyomingsightdrifter.com/) as it is 1/10th the price and has gotten some good reviews.

+1 on the Wyoming Sight Drifter. It's just ingenious.

I have the RangeMaster, which has a different top then the Pro model. This video helped me...

https://youtu.be/oD3PmDSReII

On the Beretta Forum, WAL, who is one of the two recommended, gunsmiths, modified and uses a Wheeler sight tool. His modifications, effectively made it the RangeMaster. I picked up the RangeMaster based on what he did, and a sale on Beretta's site, that made the RangeMaster $1 more then the Wheeler, with no modification necessary.
On another video, someone called and was able to purchase the different top to upgrade their tool. Since the RangeMaster is supposed to cover 95% of what the Pro tool does, I figured that was my best/cost effective way for the amount of use I plan on.

Just ordered the MGW from Midway with Sig and HK shoes. That's a chunk of change but every time I cheap out on a tool I regret it.

Thanks for the help.
