It's rare to see good news reported on these days but good things are happening. There are still selfless people out there. All is not lost as the media would have you believe.

How about a thread full of only good news, a break from all the mayhem we hear about daily?

I'll start it off with this story:

PHIL CAMPBELL, Ala. — Last month, an Alabama woman saved the life of someone who once saved hers: a retired police officer who arrested her eight years ago.

According to FOX 11, Jocelynn James was arrested 16 times between 2007 and 2012 for theft and drug charges. Now, she’s nearly eight years sober and a kidney donor to the cop who she says helped turn her life around.

During the Kentucky Derby Protests, a national guardsman was found on camera kneeling with a 5-year-old boy in prayer. The powerful moment reportedly brought “strength” to the soldiers there. The national guardsman, Dan Otterson, told Fox News that he was in tears. “God sent a 5-year old boy to strengthen soldiers, and that’s something you can’t ever replicate,” he said.

Otterson went on to note how impactful this moment was for him. “In a world full of aggression and tension this little boy showed that there is still love and compassion, regardless of skin color, gender or how you feel about my occupations. While I may never see that little boy again, I know he was sent in that moment to keep us safe.”

Someone turned in my kid’s camera bag with $1500 in gear that he thoughtlessly left in the middle of a busy downtown square overnight. Of course he had no ID in the bag so it took a week to connect the dots but man that really restores my faith in humanity.

Something to help renew one's faith in humanity.

An electrician saw his client’s house was in disrepair. So he called friends and they fixed her house for free.
