SYMTAC Consulting is proud to bring our flagship 2-day Shotgun Skills course to the Oklahoma City area at the Mead Hall Range!

This course primarily focuses on the Push/Pull method of recoil control. Using Rob's unique method of recoil management, the student will be able to reduce felt recoil by nearly 50% and be able to fire follow-up shots with a 12 gauge pump shotgun as fast as most shooters can fire their pistols. The student will also be introduced to the shotgun CQB technique, which effectively shortens the weapon by 33%, making it effective even in extremely tight quarters. Other topics include: marksmanship fundamentals, patterning zones, ammunition selection, tactical manipulation, equipment selection, low light considerations, malfunction clearances, pistol transitions, pivots/turns, and shooting on the move.

I took a Haught class of this nature almost twenty years ago — it delivered an excellent amount of information in a short time, most particularly the push/pull technique which is invaluable. 10/10 would take again.

Shoot, this is doable for me. The hardest part would be finding that much birdshot, I've already got enough buck and slugs. It'd be a day's drive each way.

A class I have long wanted to take at one of the best class venues in the United States... but it is the weekend immediately prior to TacCon.

Maybe I can do a western swing for the entire week.

If only someone had a spare guest room south of Mead Hall, and only 30 minutes from the TacCon site......

I took my grandson to Academy for shoes and a jacket and spied the last hundred round box of AA they had. Got all I need now. :)

Looks like the closest place for a hotel is Shawnee off I-40. Recommendations? Cheap is good, but I'm too old and cranky to stay in nasty places. If anyone here wants to split a room, I'm interested.

I've stayed at the Comfort Inn there twice and at the LaQuinta. I preferred the Comfort Inn. A Fairfield Inn was under construction next to the Comfort Inn the last time I was there. It may be open now.

Make sure that you partake of Braum's while you are there.

Bill told me that the Grand Casino (3 miles from the range) is on great terms with him, and if you mention you're going to a class at Mead Hall they'll cut you a deal. The only downside is that it's on tribal land, so make sure your guns are unloaded and boxed up before you enter the casino/hotel. He also recommended the Hampton Inn at Shawnee (about 15 mins' drive from the range), also with a special rate for students.
