This unfortunate situation is why many of us consider white light an essential part of any home defense plan. In the real world you need to be absolutely sure of who/what you are about to put a bullet in.

On this topic. We had a guy here convicted of Culpable Homicide today. Heard a noise outside and fired a shot with his hunting rifle( calibre not specified) into the dark. Bullet went through the window of his domestic servants room and hit her six year old grandchild.

If he goes to prison here he is all kinds of fucked. Andreports are he is obviously in a state about killing a child.

All because not only did he not identify his target but didn't even have one. Just wanted to fire a "warning shot"

White light can be your friend.

Friendly fire shootings have been in the news as of late as well: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42054944/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/

Positively identify your target.

Positively identify your target.

Friendly fire shootings and mass murders are the only thing that get in the news.
