I would say that I have been firmly in the camp that if Im going to have a PDW, I want power to be a primary part of the package. Thus I have been a fan of the Rattler or DD PDW or similar solutions. Not so much a fan of Pistol Caliber carbines. However, it looks to me that the APC10 gets pretty darn close on paper. Non reciprocating CH and takes glock mags. And right now....prices are competitive! Hmmmmmm.

What does the 10mm do that the 9mm won't? How does a 10mm in any way "come close" to a 5.56 or .300?

Isn't 10mm just a pistol round? There is a reason a lot of people went to 300BO and set it up to shoot 110 Barnes...

Well it looks like a 135 range projo is in the 1500's out of a 7" barrel and 120 range 300Blk out of a rattler is in the 1800's. Not really the difference I was expecting. Keep in mind this is a generalization and a cursory view with some extrapolation. The general thought is the power difference doesnt seem as acute for these particular platforms. And that makes the consideration for an APC10 interesting to discuss.

Yeah, the numbers are close, but close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and thermonuclear weapons.

I love my APC9 PRO. I love 10mm. But it’s not going to give you the performance of a 300BLK weapon. The B&T will be noticeably more compact for carry, so as long as you know it’s limitations go forth and be happy.

I want someone to test the APC10 with Underwood 140gr Xtreme Penetrators. They are what I have for my G40 when worries about being a 4 legged critters snack.

Agreed. I should have probably made it clearer that im not contrasting 300blk and 10mm. Im contrasting 300blk out of a 5" Rattler vs 10mm out of a 7" APC. I realise the comparison is a bit unconventional, but they both are in the super compact catagory. And the numbers look a lot closer than I would have expected. Thus I thought it an interesting conversation to have.

I am a sucker for 10mm, but for more money than a Rattler, I can’t imagine why anyone would pick a blow back pistol caliber design over the Rattler in a rifle caliber, with the availability of factory 110 Barnes. I am not a Sig fan, but the Rattler strikes me as perhaps their best current product. Nobody on PF, to my knowledge, has had a lick of trouble with them.

Well...the apc 10 seems to be about 2400 and the rattler right now is about 3300 :O . (Gunbroker). Hesitating 8 months ago looks like it was a mistake! And im not trying to hammer the apc into a rattler 2nd place. It interests me on its own merrit where similer products havent. Soft spot for the 10mm perhaps :). My original selection was rattler vs mk18 and i went the mk18 route. But I find the utility of a really small package remains attractive.
