Mods feel free to move to General Discussion, I was not sure were to put it but figured most likely it would spawn a discussion about a firearms or whatever.

Obviously a lot of you got the email blast, but... what do y’all think. My guess 92 slide for PMO?::confused:

If it isn't the optic solution for the 92 then I'm not excited...

Based on the email and tease, if he's going to sell his own shot timer and not a RDS mounted option for the 92 im going to laugh and be upset at the same time.

I know the social media hype works, it just doesn't do anything for me.

I can't/won't register/log in to social media. Don't know if the change was Langdon Tactical, or instagram, but I can't view the pictures anymore as it brings up a log in.

With the You're not ready thing, I half expect a BUNCH of new things:
PX4 fiber optic sights from long ago
PX4 red dot sights
92 red dot solution
Langdon Tactical's take on the 92 performance (not his trigger job on one, but the different options he would have done).

My brain came up with this weird image of all the run on guns and supplies, causing his wife to tell him he needed to finish up the other stuff, rather then keep bugging her, while awaiting stock.:p

Re-qualified with the M9 earlier this week. Likely for the last time. I commented to a friend of mine the shooting the M9 qual always gets my Beretta juices flowing again. Now, this. I'm 99.9% sure that my HVAC system needs to be complete before my wife finds any new guns in my house. But there's still that .1% chance.

Beretta92x

We know he's been trying red Dot tall sights for the px4 since at least March from one of his videos. Also we know 92 optic cut was out for patents. Hopefully both. Want to get the px4 optic cut but not before there are sights ready. Would like the 92 done as well, but it's such a beautiful gun that I don't know I can bring myself to have an optic put onto it.

I 100% believe there is based upon Mr. Langdon's comment earlier in the thread. He knows what this board wants... I passed up a couple other things to buy because I'm waiting on this. If it isn't a red dot ready 92 with an elegant solution I'll be a little sad inside...

Stretching the hood - no
Cutting and adding a section to the hood - no
Maybe retrofit a modern RDS hood - hmmmmmm

While I totally understand the meme, the 92 is pretty damn mature technology. Ernest knows the system pretty well. If there’s one combo I wouldn’t mind being an early adopter on, it’d be a Beretta that’s bad Langdons TLC.

Out of all the gun industry social media, Ernest and his crew have been killing it with their teases on social media and this forum leading up to releases! Can’t wait to get one...I should have saved the money that I just spent two weeks ago on a 92X Compact, I’ve already bought support equipment from LTT once in the last week, I don’t have the cash free right now for another pistol!

The P-Fers were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of Ro-Langdon Specials danced in their heads.

In all seriousness, I note that the KE Arms Short, Single-Port comp is 0.8" long, and should make a comped Centurion equal in length to M9-barreled gun. My 92D Centurion went to go and live with some old friends, and perhaps a replacement Centurion from LTT will eventually be in order.

OK, everything is up on YouTube, and the site should be live for orders. Right now, we can sell complete guns, and we can take in your slides for modification. New slides are coming, so hopefully, we will be able to sell slides and top ends in the coming weeks. Right now, we are only going to work on Vertec style slides. So that means Vertecs, M9A3, Elite LTTs, 92X, and also 92A1/96A1. The reason for this is the CNC machines are set up and programed for that deck hight as well as the way the adaptor plates are made. We have done our best to keep the price down, but keep in mind we have to rebuild the top end on every gun, no matter how new it is. The new Firing pin, new firing pin block, new extractor pin, Modified G lever, and modified safety plunger all have to be swapped out. Not to mention we include the backup iron sights as well as screws for both RMR and Holosun dots.

If you go to the YouTube videos, you can see the full drop test we did on the gun as well to prove the slide internal parts. 6 drops onto the hammer from 6 feet onto concrete. If you think the drop test video I did years ago was sickening, just wait.

The bottom line, I am super proud of this project. This has been a long road and a huge investment on our part to make this happen. I really think it is going to be exactly what you all want.

LangdonTactical

I saw this here before checking the website and thought you were going to be around twice what the actual price is. When compared to what some of the modular options for glocks are I think you met and exceeded your goals there. This looks awesome.

We have holsters already. We have a range OWB and an AIWB from JM Custom in stock and ready to ship.

Aaron Cowan says his Armadillo Concealment WML holster fits his (yes, he has had a top end for about two weeks already).

Yes, all three will work. I have all three mounted on all the guns and have shot them quite a bit.

The SRO is my favorite so far, but it is big. The RMR is the smallest in size, but so is the window. Right now I really like the Holosun as the best compromise between the two. I have it on a Centurion and it is my go-to gun right now.

Let me be more specific about the slides that we can work on. We are getting killed with questions about "can you work on this slide that I have?" all day long.

ONLY VERTEC STYLE SLIDES WITH SAFETY LEVERS.

92/92 Vertec safety slides
M9A3 Slides
Elite LTT Slides (full size and Compact/Cent)
92X slides (not the Performace as that is a Brigadier and has a different firing pin)
92A1 and 96A1 slides

This is because the CNC machine fixtures and programming as well as the adaptor plate, are set up for these slides. Other slides have a different deck height. D model and Performance slides use a different firing pin.

We hope to have stand-alone slides very soon. So if you have an older 92 of a different configuration, you can simply swap slides or top ends.

Please do not call and beg my staff to make an exception for you and or try to explain how we should do it....... Please!

You’re welcome on the 2011 thing too. Cheebus that was an expensive trialAs a 1911 fan myself and a lover of M&PS, I found they LTT92 was such a forgiving pistol to shoot. As far as accuracy, it's on par with the APEX fitted barrel with a FSS and flat trigger.

And to echo Ernest, the DA first shot is a benefit, because it's forgiving on close range targets, and not a big deal for long ones.

All to say, you'll probably love it more than a 2011

Yeah, I hate to be *that guy* but I saw earlier that the safety plunger gets modified for this job, and I know that the original G design used a different slide than the F slide, and the differences are in the general neighborhood of this modification.

The original Vertec G is pretty rare, but I've got an extra one sitting around that could go in for this work. But am somewhat convinced by the wording that it's a no-go.

Yeah, I'm less clear on the frame differences between the Centurion and full-size, but pretty sure if you put a full-size slide on a Centurion you'll have an air gap at the front end between the end of the dustcover and the beginning of the lower part of the slide. IOW, pretty sure the dustcover is shorter length on a Centurion / Compact frame.

ETA I'm not saying it won't physically function; I don't know the answer to that. It might work just fine while looking bad.

Just to sum up, it sounds like yes centurion/compact are interchangeable with one another but not with a full-size due to frame rail differences.

Perhaps think of a centurion as a compact with a long grip, rather than a full size with a short slide?

Either way, it sounds like I need to buy a whole centurion

This is EL's response to me. I measured an old 92F slide vs. an M9A3 and the 92F was slightly shorter from the bottom of frame rails to the flat on top of the slide. However, if you look at the flats on top of each slide, the M9A3 is wider, and the shape of the slide is slightly different from a 92F (looking at it from the breech end). Comparing the two, I don't think it's a matter of programming; I don't think the concept is possible on a 92F.

No Sir.

Right now, we are only going to work on Vertec style slides. So that means Vertecs, M9A3, Elite LTTs, 92X, and also 92A1/96A1. The reason for this is the CNC machines are set up and programmed for that deck hight as well as the way the adaptor plates are made.

According to Beretta USA, the PX4c is a 1/4" shorter and 4oz lighter than the 92c.

My PX4c is
1.1" wide at the frame and slide.
1.2" wide Holosun 407c/507c.
1.2" wide at the old "Fugly/stealth" decocker levers levers.
1.3" wide at the low profile slide catch lever.

Beretta USA says the PX4 Compact Carry is 1.4" wide and the LTT 92 Elite Compact is 1.5" wide. (I don't know where they're measuring)

I have a PX4c with a Holosun 407c on it. It's a great little carry gun. A PX4c w/ a Holosun 507k would likely be even better, but I don't know if LTT does a 507k plate yet).

There are currently no BUIS for the PX4 line. Last I heard, Ameriglo has them on the to-do list, but COVID, etc. To quote Tom Jones regarding The Gadget: "#Soon." ;)

Comparing my RDO Solution PX4c to the RDO 92 videos, the 92 mounting solution appears more robust than the PX4 RDO solution. All else being equal, if Aaron Cowan level durability is a consideration, my impression is the 92 gets the nod in this particular criteria.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I do understand that. I guess I could have worded my question better. I'm asking about the original 92G Vertec slide specifically, and what I meant was that the 92FS (or "F style") Vertec slide has been said to be good to go for this work. We know the D slides don't work because of the internals. But the G Vertec slide hasn't had a yes or no to it yet, unless EL was meaning 'any Vertec slide with safety levers' literally, because technically the G Vertec has decockers and not safety levers.

The reason I differentiated between the F style Vertec slide and the original G style is that they're 2 different slides. When the M9A3 slide was developed, it used the Vertec F slide as a foundation, and the user-switchable G decocker that was introduced with the M9A3 allows Beretta to only make the F style slide moving forward. The new G decocker means that the original Vertec G slide (and the standard 92G slide also) has become a developmental dead end, and to my knowledge Beretta hasn't made a dedicated non-Brigadier G slide since then.

So this modification, so far, is definitely OK for any Vertec F-style slide which includes the M9A3 in both F and G configurations. We know it doesn't work on the D, we know it doesn't work on any of the standard fixed front sight slides.

Anyway, all that is to say that the Vertec G slide is kind of a unicorn and I'd like to hear a yes or no on it specifically. UNLESS my reading comprehension stinks, I haven't seen that yet. But I did go through this thread before I asked.

I think they are attempting to go at the back up sights with a different distributor now. Hopefully one comes through, would much rather the red dot on the px4 over the 92. I brought up the 507k in an email to see if they can mill the slide so the red dot connects straight to it. Being its so short and has back up irons already on it i figured it might work with the stock front sight. They said they are always looking to improve on what they have, but no plans right now.

It does, thank you. I’m not in a position to scoop one right now, but I probably will be in a year or two. I like the recoil impulse of an aluminum frame better anywho, so even better. I’ll have to get hands on with the next compact I see in person.

We still have about 50 guns in stock and ready to go, those numbers are changing constantly. I think we shipped 65 guns yesterday.

Would you happen to have any full-size LTT Elites (classic/non red-dot version) left by chance? The website says they are 1-3 weeks out. Thanks.

Looking around various forms of social media, I don't get the impression the PX4 RDO Solution has been a strong seller. I have no insider info AT ALL, I just don't see any of them out there. I can certainly understand how it'd be tough to find a third party sight manufacturer willing to invest in such a (presumably) small market segment.

I think you are spot on. This forum aside, the PX4 and even the 92 RDO are, at best, a boutique market entry. Are they great guns? Absolutely, and I'm sure that mine will get handed down to my son and grandson when I'm gone. When Glock released the MOS models they knew what they were doing. Cheap entry point with a huge market base. I'd hazard to say that all of the Beretta RDO guns produced in the next two years will barely scratch what the Austrian boys are producing in the current quarter.

There is little fiscal incentive to R&D and front production costs when the market share is so much smaller. That is unless you are a zealot like EL and why getting my order packages is like Christmas. :)

I am excited though to see how the 92 RDOs represent in organized competition.

I agree with the basic premise, though the 92 has one thing the PX4 never had/never will: a US military contract. Even a piddly one like the old SIGs received gave the SIGs "gravitas." Thus, the 92 and variants are at least looked at by people like my veteran son, whereas the PX4 is an oddity to them; I can see those 30-somethings checking out RDO 92s.

Probably more of them will go for the bland SIG P320 because social media-driven mass hysteria works.

Is the original 92G Vertec slide compatible with this work? Or does this only work with the old F-based and current universal Vertec slides?

We can do those, but it will take us a little longer as we will have to modify and refinish your safety lever rather than just replace it with the parts we have on hand.

Removing the extractor pin to remove the extractor to clean under it and also the firing pin whenever you decide to do that. But, it also looks like the optics plate retains the pin so you don’t have to re-stake the pin hole on top of the slide.

Maybe LangdonTactical can verify and offer a suggestion on the round count when that should happen.

I guess the question would be, what do you consider routine maintenance? If you have a habit of pouring oil in your firing pin channel and cleaning the top end with bore solvent, then yes, you're going to have to clean out the top end often. And that does include removing the plate if you want to detail disassemble the slide.

There is no reason for you to have to do that for at least 15 to 20 thousand rounds if you are taking proper care of the gun.

Interesting data point. So far I've had it in the hands of four very experienced shooters including me, all familiar with carry optics. The universal comment thus far is, "This gun brings the dot to my eye faster than anything else I've worked with." (My sample has Trijicon SRO.)

The plate looks like it is mounted lower than the top of the barrel!

It is below the barrel, the bottom of the RMR is in line with the top of the chamber of the gun.

Many people forget that the 92 already has very little slide material above the barrel. There is no need for a big box around the chamber to lock into the slide like most newer John Browning locking system guns.

500 rounds through mine in the last 2 days.

I feel qualified to answer range report queries-

However beyond the dot aspect - it’s the same as the other perfectly tuned Elite LTTs (Which much better shooters than me have detailed in the past )

That said - If a 92 is your jam, all previous versions are simply incomplete.

I kind of regret purchasing a px4 and then spending money turning it into a carry. Almost feel like i should have just gotten another centurion for $850 from Ernest and paid the 330 for the optic cut. Although i do find the px4 for some reason easier to shoot, it is not as smooth a gun as my 92x centurion. Not even close. I would get the optic cut for the px4, but really want to wait for the taller sights so i dont have to send the slide in twice to get done.
