For those looking for an active retention holster for their Taurus 24/7 G2, we found 1 that fits well and works great from Blackhawk.

I've posted a review in my blog (http://247shooter.blogspot.com/2012/06/quick-review-of-blackhawk-serpa-holster.html).

We have a guy here who was issued a Gen 3 Glock 17, only to have "higher" take it and issue him a Taurus 24/7, a pistol that's garbage even by Afghan standards. If this happened to me I'd be writing this from Dubai, as the gods of pistol shooting would never forgive me for carrying such a substandard sidearm in a Pakistani made holster.

If you actually want to use the Serpa:

It is so rare that a pistol gets carried in a holster it is truly deserving of

Serpa/Taurus aside, this seems like more of a product description that a product review.

A recent class I attended where everything came to a dead stop while the instructor had to screw around with a guy's SERPA to get his gun out. He eventually had to use a knife and break some crap off.

Honestly, I'd rather have a Taurus in a Safariland than a Glock in a SERPA. Just my opinion.

I can see the appeal of the SERPA for MIL / LE customers, and even OC, but I don't understand why they fly out of gun shops / gun shows for the new concealed carry liscensee. Especially when there's at least a Galco pancake usually for sale at the same place. All the issues with the SERPA aside, it's very clearly a poor choice for CC.

I was talking with a guy the other day who carries a baby glock in .357 in a serpa paddle holster because "it's got retention but it's easy to put on and take off" /facepalm

At one of the better indoor ranges around here, that also sells guns, does training etc. etc. Just about everybody behind the counter carries a glock in a serpa - so when "just bought my first gun and got my carry permit guy" goes to get a holster off the rack and is faced with a $50 leather pancake or a $25 serpa that all the "experts" behind the counter have it's a no brainer to grab the serpa.

I've been seeing more of the 5.11 thumbdrive holsters on the shelf lately which also fills the need of "I want retention but don't want to spend the money on an ALS" so maybe they'll grab some market share.

I've been assured by legions of people on the internet that this does not, in fact, happen with the Serpa. Ever. Their's is "100%". So I can only assume you are using some dark Jedi mind trick stuff to make me see a picture that isn't actually there.
