I recently traded into a NIB S&W 66-8 4.25" barrel DCC serial number prefix.
OMG.
I honestly have never felt such a smooth and just damn sexy trigger in my lifetime. It even trounces my older well used 686-4 (which is in the process of being sold). There is no comparison to the trigger on the 66-8 2.75 that I had a few months ago and sold. It was smooth but stupid heavy. The guy I sold it to doesn't mind since he only shoots it SA anyway.
I don't have a trigger pull gauge but it feels like an honest sub 10# trigger. It is light enough that as a "stupid gun trick" I even held the gun upside down and pulled the trigger DA with my pinky finger multiple times and I don't have massive strong gorilla paws.:p
Since it should get better as it wears in from dry firing and because it is so nice (darned near sensual) to dryfire, I am thoroughly excited to see how nice it gets.
So BRAVO S&W, now if you would just get rid that soul leaking hole.:(
