Post up a picture and a short blurb.

803

Sgt Adam Kennedy (http://www.sgtadamkennedy.com/id1.html), KIA April 8th 2007 in Diwaniyah, Iraq. Words can't express the humor this guy brought to the 'wick.

Don't have a picture on the computer to upload, but I am remembering my great-uncle who I am named for:

CHARLES "NINK" ALLSBROOK - killed in action shortly after D-day in Normandy.

I am so proud to have his name as a remembrance.

Thanks to all our service members for what they do for us!

Best father in law you could ask for, passed last December too young and never forgotten.

Lance Corporal Lance Graham USMCR.
Best friend of my wife, protector and the one that had to approve of me. Lost defending our freedom in Iraq by an IED attack on his Humvee which no one survived.

Always in our hearts.

I had to euthanize our family pet a few hours ago, not a great way to start this weekend.
Sorry if it doesn't follow the theme or importance.

She will be missed...

Sgt. Matthew Soper, US Army, 1461st Transportation Company (Combat Heavy Equipment). Killed by an IED on 6 June, 2007 during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Bayji, Iraq. I never met him, personally. But my family and his have become friends over the past year or so, so I'm hoisting a pint in his memory.

A college ROTC and drinking buddy. Captain Keith Lucas was a 160th (Night Stalkers) pilot and was shot and killed on Granada during Operation Urgent Fury. Keith was flying to insert a team from SFOD-D. Keith was already shot in the leg from an earlier attempt to drop them off. As he held hover to enable them to disembark, he was facing a steep hill. A Cuban estimated no more than 40 feet in front of him took aim and shot him in the head through the windshield. A Delta officer has related that Keith was looking square at the Cuban but held that hover, trying to accomplish the mission. A great man, survived by wife and daughters.

Sgt. Michael Knapp (and his brother in arms, Sgt. JaBraun Knox)
Died 5/18/12, Afghanistan

Mike was married to one of my wife's cousins. He died manning his artillery piece with one of his buddies when a mortar hit the "ready rack" of HE rounds and he & his buddy Sgt. JaBraun Knox were both killed, 4 others suffering severe burns that they're still recovering from.

Both Sgts left behind young wives & children- Kinsley Knapp (9 months old) & JaBrauns little boy is 6 months old.

The saddest part is that Mike was due to rotate out for a 2 week leave in a days time, he should have been home right now. Instead he will be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Sgt. Knox had just returned from a 15day leave, so he had just been home with is wife & son a few weeks ago. He will also be laid to rest on Tuesday.
