Going through a local dealers website I found this: https://armscor.com/firearms/ria/rifle-series/m22-tcm-tactical-22tcm/ Comes with a 5rd mag and it will take the 17rd pistol mag.
Looks and sounds like fun since I like SCHV and oddball calibers. I wonder how it compares to the .204 Ruger?

.204 Ruger has more capacity than 5.56, so it's kinda different.

That gun is at its best converted to 9mm. And either threaded for a muzzle can or integrally suppressed.

Honestly I’m not sure why there isn’t a factory 9mm bolt gun.

Weird, such never occurred to me and now I feel it would be a must have! Like the little Rugers using a G26 mag

Kind of cool. I'd prefer semi auto but that's me. It's a fast burning round in a full length barrel isn't it!

Putting 9mm in a 16-in barrel doesn't gain much velocity except with 115gr +P. So the performance difference vs. a pistol is that you can make low-probability hits more accurately - with very slow follow-ups. OTOH, you can always put a .38 SPL in a long gun chambered for .357, but the .357 can approach .30-30 performance in an 18-in barrel. It's just a lot more versatile.
OTOH, a 9mm semi-auto carbine that feeds inexpensive ammo reliably from common mags has some utility. There have been several of them. It's kinda frustrating to me that the current popular one a.) is so heavy and b.) won't come in a fixed-barrel format that would eliminate questions surrounding its reliability.
There are a few factory 9mm barrels for Contenders, if that's your thing, but all that I've seen are pistol-length. The custom build route could make a super lightweight and compact, fairly quiet (thread it and it might be stapler-quiet with 147s), Fudd-friendly single-shot carbine an option for dispatching trash pandas and other vermin around the ol' homestead. Or paper your Contender and use the pistol length...

What attracted me about the idea wasn’t ballistic but a cheap to feed carbine weighing <6 lbs for recreational shooting. The thing that would attract me most about suppressed should I ever pursue a can would be a quiet pest control tool and 9mm would be great for that with factory ammo galore.

I get what your saying but I still want one. A 16” threaded barrel bolt gun that takes pistol mags would be fun. But I’ll probably go the route of the contender. I do agree I wish the Ruger was a fixed barrel though. I want a 9mm bolt gun (or single shot) for small game hunting and cheap shooting

Could be a fun and interesting project to build on one of the several "mini" actions that are out there. Howa, CZ, etc. Although the single shot will always come up shorter for a given barrel length.

It wouldn't take a pistol magazine, but if you could get one of the old European 9mm shot shell garden guns and sleeve the barrel with a liner from TJs you could have the beginnings of something handy.

You could do the same by setting back the barrel on a Spanish 9mm destroyer bolt gun as well.
In my case, I went full retard on suppressed .357’s between a threaded 10” barrel for the Contender SBR, 16” threaded barrel for the 77/357, and contemplating threading the Rossi 92. And I bought a .32H&R barrel for the Contender too. The sickness is real.
If I hadn’t already gone so deeply down the rabbit hole, I’d buy a TCM bolt gun and send it to Mike Klos...
“9mm Bolt action Rifle
We offer a custom built 9mm bolt action rifle, these make one of the best suppressor platforms I've ever used in 9mm, especially with subsonic ammunition like Hush. With one of our suppressors they are amazingly quiet and test at 118dB with subsonic ammo. They come standard with a 16" barrel threaded 1/2x28 with a fitted thread cap and barrel lengths are available up to 20" but will add to the cost so ask about that if it's something you want. The host rifles have been difficult to come by these days but we can do the conversion on your rifle if you have one. The complete conversion service runs 395.00 plus return shipping on your rifle. This service includes a new barrel that's fitted, chambered, headspaced and threaded 1/2x28 with a thread cap, all necessary conversion work done to the action and finished in the KG Gunkote color of your choice. Drop us a line with any questions. We also offer an integrated suppressed version of this rifle, this means that the suppressor is a permanent part of the rifle and integrated into the barrel. This conversion runs 575.00.”

I forgot about those Destroyer carbines. I should have bought a crate of them when I had access to ammo.
